I cant believe the sun finally came out today! Im going flying. Anyone else going flying today? If so, and there's snow, make sure to get a snowscape for the photo contest.

UPDATE: The CONTEST IS ON. Anyone interested in a Winter Wonderland photo contest?

Would anyone fly based on this reading? This was the wind on the ground. I just hovered the battery down.

um, no. crazy windy over here on the east coast.

I am hoping on a beautiful red sky to capture at dawn tomorrow though. Will be around 10 degrees F though.

sure, why not? I would probably do up to 20 on the ground and depending on the attitude indicator, higher.

If things are this hairy on the ground, I wont fly unless Im flying an Inspire. Winds were gusty, when I climbed to 60' winds were even stronger and gusty. One little gust near the ground and it could be 2 props damaged or more. Not worth it to me just to get my jollies.

There are old pilots and bold pilots...

I was going to fly around noon yesterday. UAV said conditions were iffy. However the gusts were quite high. Then I found my I hadn't charged my batteries from storage levels. Well that settles it.

I mostly fly by sight and if it is dancing around too much up above the house line then i come back in and wait for another day.
