Helicopters are allowed below 500ft for reasons as trivial as sight seeing tours. However, they are far more maneuverable, with the ability to hover in place. This makes a critical difference, and is largely why the rules allow it. -

And even a short exposure to moisture won't do any damage. Get ur video and come home and land ASAP. Just remove the battery and let everything warm up and...
