I would definitely recommend flying in open spaces without obstacles to begin. If you’re new to drone flying, take time to get comfortable with the controls and your ability before becoming adventurous. Enjoy!
Got to admit I don’t fly Jetstar, but no issues with QANTAS and Virgin. Sounds like you don’t have transport to get around. Your radius around the main TSV airport will mean the Strand and Magnetic Island likely won’t be allowed.
I’ve grounded my drone given the hot weather and high humidity - the only time I’ve noticed any battery swelling was with my trusty Air 1 in summer. Interesting you don’t think the Mini 3Pro wouldn’t fare well around the coastline. I agree there can be high winds at times.
Could it be that I took the drone out of a nice warm car and then had it flying within a few minutes with a reasonable temperature difference? If so, I should give some time to acclimatise before flying next time?
