Also my cousin in canada has minus 35 and his car cannot start unless he uses special engine oil, special chargers etc. Cold has real effects this is definately a fact. Try flying above 15 degrees, fly to portugal or somewhere warm and give it a go and you will know. All the best.

Just to add..many people fly at the waters edge. Why do you think minus 20 is just not a problem? I flew at waters edge yesterday it was ok. Bit im new to this. If its a fact that flying standing at waters edge over water causes compass problems and many problems then i will not do it at all...

I would say go to a place where its definately a fly zone wide open with no interference amd try operate it normal and see if its smooth on the most up to date software. The nfz i dfont know but personally i wouldent fly in them just because. Make sure amtennas are straught out all the way like...

At the end of the day it knows where the start location is and once remote control is lost it should rth right? Why would it not RTH once signal lost? And yes stay high up and set your RTH altitude high enough that you dont get caught up in anything.. I would like to know what causes a drone...
