    Good sd card

That's what I meant. I had an issue where a corrupt sd card prevented the gimbal from initializing, so formatting in a PC was the only option.

Changing altitude for RTH mid flight?

Best practice is to set RTH above the trees and then you only need to rely on OA for buildings/solid objects.

Train rolling through a small town in Ohio

That's pretty cool. Lots more interesting landscape than central Ohio.

Train rolling through a small town in Ohio

Yes I was flying about 37 mph and wasn't keeping up. They fly through that town. I flipped back to GPS for the shots in town.

    Good sd card

You can format the card using a PC. Always format to ex-FAT. That may clear up any problems with the Mavic.

    Landing range?

No I was flying sideways in sport mode following my son on a four wheeler and got into the woods. Total operator error.

    Landing range?

Well can't do it for a few weeks now. Unfortunately I slammed into a 75' tall tree doing 43 mph yesterday [emoji22]. I'll be waiting on DJI care refresh.

    Landing range?

That's a good question. I don't use the land button on the app much so I don't really know. I suppose it would depend on how high you were when you initiated the land. If I get an opportunity tomorrow I'll try landing and turning off the controller in my back yard. It's big and has plenty of room.

    Landing range?

It was set to RTH at 40m. But it was in its landing phase when it lost connection, so RTH did not engage.

Mavic Pro video of Trains in North East, PA

That's a cool video. Trains are fun to chase! When the weather gets a little better I'm going to go looking for them on purpose. Here's a video I was shooting and happened to catch a train rolling through town. I chased it out of town for a while. I think I was in GPS mode otherwise I might...

Kittyhawk App makes notification a snap?

I'm curious about this as well. It gives the impression that if you start the flight log, it will notify airports on your behalf. Does this mean it will notify any airports you are within the shaded radius of at take off, or does it mean it will notify an airport if you fly into their radius...

    Landing range?

I did the same thing four days ago just messing around and testing range limits. I'm in a rural area and there is a seldom used gravel road near my house in complete VLOS. I flew across the field to the road and planned to land and then start the motors and take off again. I had an excellent...

    Flying over mountain

If the Mavic is above its set RTH altitude, it will come home at its current altitude. It won't descend until it reaches the home point.

    Flying over mountain

Totally agree. Go by the FAA. Never fly above 400' if you don't want to. But if you do, it's okay. Just don't hit anything. Have fun, kids!

    Flying over mountain

It is this exact point that motivates me to get involved in these urinating contests. In the end nobody will be swayed from their POV, but at least it can be shown to others that there is no gospel even though some are preaching it.
