I cut and pasted videos from my SD card into my laptop. Afterwards, the drone didn't record onto the SD card, even though it seemed to recognise it OK, showed how much space was left, didn't say it required reformatting or anything. Reformatting in the drone fixed it.

The ZTE Blade A7S runs Fly Fine. It's the cheapest new phone I'm aware of that will. Cost Au$90 on special. Has a fairly bright 6.5 inch screen, and does seem to have a compass. I only use it as a dedicated screen for the drone, no sim, doubt if it would handle multiple apps running...

Yesterday I flew around an abandoned resort which had its own airstrip. There was a height restriction lower than where I had RTH set, so on take-off it said the RTH altitude had been adjusted. Strangely, even though it was lower than it had been, it was still 7m above the height restriction.

A more directional antenna on the RC will improve its ability to receive weak signals. As long as it's pointed at the drone.

When you digitally zoom you're basically cropping the picture. The more you zoom. The lower the resolution.

If you're into photography, the Mini2 's ability to shoot Raw as well as JPEG photos may be of interest.

Most experienced drone flyers seem to suggest the most efficient way to get a drone back against a headwind is flat out in sport mode. Begs the question: at what strength (weakness) of headwind does this cease to be the best option?

I find "quick" transfer to be pretty slow, and the drone sometimes takes a few attempts to connect to the phone. Lately I've been using the RC and getting faster results and better connection.

One sure way to find out: replace the props and see if it improves. I think it's possible that use, and maybe even the storage strap could over time deform the props slightly, maybe altering their pitch a little. A pair with different pitch could cause vibration, which might upset the flight...

That's true. My point was, it uses x Watts to hover, and you're going nowhere. So effectively x Watts is "wasted power" in regards to moving forwards. Moving will use x+y Watts, with the y component being the proportion contributing to actually moving forwards. The faster you move, the greater...

Have you installed the correct props to the correct motors? There are two types, clockwise and counter clockwise. They fit diagonally opposite motors.If you only fitted one type to all 4 motors or fitted the wrong props to some motors, the drone would certainly behave erratically.
