    Showing Your Age

Party telephone lines and no area codes - the only way to place a long distance call was to dial 0 for the operator. Going to visit Disneyland amongst the orange groves in Orange County California the first summer it opened when I was in kindergarten (1955). Most of the place was still under...

Prediction: AI hardware will be used in a future DJI drone in 2024

Yup - they just arrived this last week. They seem to be really good at letting me know when gravity is working :)

Prediction: AI hardware will be used in a future DJI drone in 2024

Power issues even with the extra large battery pack? I was doing extra sets with my weight lifting just to handle it too.... <sigh>

Prediction: AI hardware will be used in a future DJI drone in 2024

This whole discussion has me concerned about the validity of AI - should I cancel my order for an AI enabled cordless electric fork?

    Drone Captures Iceland Volcano Eruption.

Seemed weird to see someone else's drone hovering underneath the one shooting the image at 00:20 seconds into the video.

Why is Congress interested in drones?

Are you trying to be rational? I'm sorry but if you keep this up we might have to report you..... 🤣

Mini 4 Investigating cause of a traffic jam with mini 4

Move off to one side of the roadway and you can follow along at will in parallel with the traffic. Not over a sidewalk full of people however.

Mini 4 Investigating cause of a traffic jam with mini 4

We have certainly noticed. Check Drones over moving vehicles for more details.

Mini 4 Investigating cause of a traffic jam with mini 4

This is incorrect and is defined in 107.145 which states that the UAS must not maintain sustained flight over moving vehicles. You can transit a roadway (with or without traffic) but sustained flight over a vehicle requires that the occupants of the vehicles have been notified of the overhead...

    Interference

Hopefully you are planning on having a pilot for each drone. Section 107.35 Operation of multiple small unmanned aircraft.

That's where the aliens board their ship 😁

    Aircraft warnings

True as long as you are near enough to an airport with your flight to receive the notification. The FAA never did actually make it a mandatory requirement for all manned aircraft to broadcast ADS-B beyond airspace defined as Class A,B, or C. The requirements for ATC managed airspace is defined...

    Aircraft warnings

OP has a Mavic 3 Pro so he does have an ADS-B detector. No drone has (or is allowed to have by FAA rules) an ADS-B transponder which by definition can send as well as receive.

    Aircraft warnings

The aircraft warnings are entirely dependent on whether the aircraft in question is broadcasting ADS-B signals. Broadcasting ADS-B is strongly recommended by the FAA but there are a lot of small planes in the U.S. that don't have that hardware onboard.

3 I love an approaching storm

From this morning directly above my house with Mt. Hood in the distance. Shot at 70mm with a Mavic 3 Pro and cropped to 16:9. We have a storm approaching from the west with just the right timing for the cloud bank to offer up a nice morning color show. Comments and critiques always welcome.
