Now that I have actually used the air a little more... I am extremely disappointed.

I agree with your Post regarding the positioning of the Air in the model line up as it was always obvious but you are very wrong regarding the above statement. I didn't see the Air as an upgrade to the Pro I already have; I saw it as a more compact, easier to carry drone for when I am out...

Mavic Air or Mavic Pro, Which is better and why?

I've got both Pro and Air. I've had absolutely zero issues with the Air. From the initial set up to test flight, it was seamless. Upgraded Firmware, first connection, all easy. Every flight has been flawless. I am always impressed with how quickly it starts and connects to the RC and, unlike...

    Skin's to prevent bird attacks?

The seagulls at my local beaches and cliffs are a real pain when flying my Mavic Pro, they arrive and get quite close to it within a few minutes wanting to chase it away. I flew my white Mavic Air there and it was only after about 30 minutes - so into the 2nd battery - that one seagull decided...

Irrefutable evidence that DJI favors Apple devices

Nope, Samsung is by some margin. Apple is actually 3rd, behind Huawei. In the USA, it might be mostly Apple...not Globally however. DJI is Chinese. Android is by far the largest phone OS in China. Don't read anything into what cable is plugged in when you open the box.

The Mavic Air isn't a neighborhood drone...

600ft? Plenty for me! I don't think my MP has ever been further. I'm not allowed to fly over residential areas anyway, privacy rules etc. Here in the Algarve, Portugal, flying over houses would invariably mean being able to see topless (and nude) women sunbathing by their pools. Same with the...

Propeller Scratch - Okay To Fly?

I crashed my drone between two steel cables that supported a power line pole once; flew just too close while trying to guide the drone between them from a distance. Two of the blades on either side of the Mavic Pro were damaged; one was badly chipped the other literally cut in half. The drone...

    Mavic Air - Android.

I use a Sony Xperia for flying my drones (Air and Pro), so Android. I bought it just for that use, nothing else. It has never crashed. I have a Samsung S8+ that I use for phone etc and while that is no doubt a far better device, I wanted something dedicated for drone-only use. I have had...

    Any UK orders shipped?

Mine is in Brussels, Belgium. The DHL shipment info I have for my drones journey started at Heathrow, UK and is now on its way to Lisbon and eventually down to the Algarve region of Portugal where I now live. Delivery Thursday, apparently.

Mavic Air or wait for Mavic Pro 2....

For me the Air is more what I want from a drone than the MP 2 based upon the predictions. The only part of the MP 2 I would envy is the 1" sensor. That would be awesome. However, since I only use my drone for casual "fun" photography and reserve "serious" photography for far better cameras, I...

Mavic Pro features vs. Mavic Air?

If the 1" sensor was on a drone the size of the Air then that would be great! If not, portability means more to me on a drone than sensor size. I get acceptable pictures from my Samsung Galaxy S8+ phone so the drone is just an extension of that for me. I carry around a 1" sensor Sony RX100 IV...

Mavic Pro features vs. Mavic Air?

As a photographer, I find that in daytime Sun, the difference between f/2.8 vs f/2.2 is negligible. It'll come into play more at Sunset or Sunrise and even then, not majorly. What I do like is that I see the Air has ISO 3200 vs the Pro's 1600 for Still Images. (This is reversed for video but I...

    Any UK orders shipped?

Ordered mine yesterday, payment authorized etc. I only want it by the 8th of March though so not in a hurry at all. I have my Mavic Pro in the meantime. The noise level has been recorded at 76.1 dB by one Reviewer as against 77.3 dB for the Pro. The pitch of the Air is different and 'seems'...

    Is it really that loud?

This is the best review of the Mavic Air at the moment: DJI Mavic Air Review [vs Mavic Pro vs Spark vs Phantom 4 Pro] You'll see the Reviewer performed a proper decibel test and the Mavic Air was 76.1 dB and the Mavic Pro 77.3 dB. The Mavic Pro Platinum was 70.3 dB. The noisiest was the...

~Poll~ Mavic Air or Mavic Pro - Which one will YOU choose?

I think DJI have instilled some confusion by releasing an entry level Mavic before updating the Pro version. Once the MP 2 is released, everyone will see the inherent differences between them and who their target market is. The pecking order will be restored more clearly. DJI are obviously...

I'm Pissed off, but do I have a right to be?

The Mavic Air is DJI's entry level Mavic. It is close to the 1st Gen Mavic Pro, yes, but it will not be so close the 2018 version of the MP 2 when it is eventually released; possibly at a slightly higher price point too. It isn't unusual for last year's Flagship model of any technology to be...
