    Aloft LAANC vs DJI FLY

I'm confused, using the Hollywood sign as an example, it appears that you can use LAANC to get immediate authorization up to 300 ft. Is there some new requirement to request LAANC 72 hours prior to flight? Also, are you saying that you submit request directly to the FAA instead of using LAANC...

Sub 249 gram rules for Norway

Thank you for these details. I'm still confused on how to get international liability insurance. According to the below website, I need 750,000 SDRs... What the heck is a special drawing right. I feel so out of my league. I'm very fearful of breaking rules but I don't want to miss out on...

Sub 249 gram rules for Norway

Can anyone help me with knowing the rules for flying a 249 gram drone in Norway or point me to a source where they're listed? I hope the rules are easier to learn and adhere to than here in the US.

After 8 days at 80 feet in the cold waters of Puget Sound

C'mon, you can't drop info like that and not explain why.

    Helpful RID link from DJI

Thank you for posting this. I read the link and some FAQs but I'm still not able to determine if my drone will be built-in RID compatible. As I have a DJI FPV (not the avata), I'm not sure if DJI considers that to be a "modern" drone or not. If anyone has info, that'd be appreciated.

    Worrying about DJI Drones

When you say you unlock your local areas, are you taking about using LAANC or is there other type of unlock?

Loved my mini, it lost control - now I am gun-shy

With the experience that you have, do you take any special precaution flying low over water versus flying low over land? In other words, what should someone do to make sure the water doesn't confuse the drone's downard sensor (if that's something you have even seen happen)?

Hypothetical question: BVLOS, WiFi, and OcuSync

Very helpful reply, thank you. I'm glad to hear that GeoZones aren't as bad as I've read on other forms before.

Hypothetical question: BVLOS, WiFi, and OcuSync

Thank you all for your comments. That's exactly what I wanted to confirm (that the OcuSync is beneficial for more than BVLOS flying). I also appreciate the comments about the 180 degree gimbal and the battery cost. Regardless, it sounds like the OcuSync feature alone is worth dealing with...

Hypothetical question: BVLOS, WiFi, and OcuSync

Since it's nearly impossible for people to legally fly Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS), does the OcuSync range provide any additional benefit over Wifi? The hypothetical, if there were two identical drones, but the cheaper option only had WiFi connection instead of OcuSync, would paying...

Wind tolerance does not mean immunity - my first close call.

Thanks for the video. Which drone is that, also what's the stuff you have attached to it?
