Is the ribbon cable securely in? Check while powered off to make sure the connections are secure, then power up the unit and move/wiggle the ribbon cable to see if its going to produce the same issue. This will tell you if its a connection issue with the ribbon cable or not. If wiggling the...

Could be the firewall configurations on your machine. One thing you can try is to disable your firewall before you connect the Mavic. Obviously this would only be for troubleshooting, you do not want to leave your firewall off.
