Deal of the Day ??? You decide.

I did that before- eNay sale of mine of an expensive telephoto lens. The buyer just wanted to pay a small deposit first, and sent an address for shipping it to a Western Union/mail store in London where the store lets customers inspect items first before paying for them. I told the buyer I...

VLOS, Drone size is it part of your deal list?

In the US, some modelers make and fly really large scale plane models that definitely have increased VLOS, and using larger standard off the shelf hobbyist drones would be a way of legally increasing your VLOS. But even though attaching LEDs does make your Drone dramatically more visible the...

Amazon drone makes emergency landing in Arizona neighborhood

They called it a “Crash landing”?! 🤣 It looked pretty well done to me, and they even deliver packages just like the delivery people do - With a “Yeet!” of more than 5-feet from where they are standing!

    Is this legal?

if a tower has guy wires, FAA also recommends staying at least 2000’ away from them.

Magic 2 zoom fly app problems

Well, that rules out lack of updates. Getting the app from DJzi as mentioned would be my next try. Also go through the reconnect procedure as if it is a new drone after you do that. My M2P works fine still, along with Litchi and VLM online.

Magic 2 zoom fly app problems

Have you done any updates to enable RID on the drone? I’m not sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they are now requiring you to have that installed and enabled.

Utah Code 76-6-206 and a fast flyover at 350-400’ AGL?

I guess if it’s in the front yard, they don’t have to worry about it, 1st amendment. But then again, if you’re accepting Amazon deliveries by drones, you probably would want to sign their contract and waiver for allowing them to do that, in addition to accepting any damages from their wayward...

Utah Code 76-6-206 and a fast flyover at 350-400’ AGL?

Yeah, you’re right about that, photo stock agencies will not accept photographs without property releases, some even if it’s public land.

Utah Code 76-6-206 and a fast flyover at 350-400’ AGL?

I assume in California, the law has to do with private property and if the person is present and interfered with though, correct? In Utah it’s stricter and includes “entering over a person’s property” with no mention of taking photos or a person having to be present.

Utah Code 76-6-206 and a fast flyover at 350-400’ AGL?

Maybe I used the wrong term? It’s a granted access agreement stated on a contract between the owner/seller and guy who purchased the land from him- the buyer can access it , but needs to let the seller know who (besides his family) is coming in through the access area and get approval for it...

Utah Code 76-6-206 and a fast flyover at 350-400’ AGL?

Yeah, I’ll just go when he’s not there and get a ride in with the customer.

    Welcome to my neighborhood

I was mapping a parcel in autonomous mode and a little FPV drone stopped by. I had a safety vest and hard hat on (per customer’s requirements at the site), so it was obvious that I was officially there. It just watched me for a bit and I gave it a friendly wave, then it waved back and took off...

Utah Code 76-6-206 and a fast flyover at 350-400’ AGL?

It’s a weird situation- We’re dealing with a property owner who can say yes or no to contractors using the easement, and without his permission (as per the easement legalese), I can’t get to the customer’s property, but it’s close enough to fly to!

Utah Code 76-6-206 and a fast flyover at 350-400’ AGL?

Would Utah Code 76-6-206 prohibit a person from only momentarily flying a drone in a single straight line without any lingering across private property at 350-400’ AGL to get to and back from a photo shoot of a landlocked parcel? I have permission to do the shoot but not to access the property...
