The maps are viewed in the app come through the Google map app. So when you download them they will be stored in the "Google map" data folder on your android phone - I have no idea how iphone do it, but I can't imagine it would be any different.
Here's one for you... that seems to follow the theory that the MaVIC can't recover if it's tilted:
On a recent flight, I got snagged by an invisible tree branch. It stopped one or two of the propellers, and sent it tumbling to the ground. Even though I had applied Full power when I saw this...
It could be the cables you tried didn't have all 4/5 wires connected. I have a collection of cables in the house...and only some that worked for my GARMIN Nuvi GPS and many that didn't.
All of them worked to charge, but only 1 or 2 actually worked to transfer DATA to/From the GPS.
As it turns...
Thanks Wrecks for understanding my question without me having to explain further .. I was concerned that I'd have to deal with shipping to China for repairs, since i'd bought the MAVIC Drone & the DJI CARE REFRESH through their online store... I haven't had much success with China companies...
EyeofRa,
I saw a video of a person lifting a few water bottles with his drone.
Perhaps you can convince another drone pilot to help retrieve your drone by connecting a hook and line to their drone ... and grab your drone off that roof? A Mavic will weigh a lot less than a few 500 ml bottles...
Hey, I got a quick question. I bought my CARE Refresh via DJI Store.
Who do I have to ship my drone to for future repairs - China or someplace in my country? i just wondered and realized I didn't know to ask this before I bought the coverage.
I have to say that I'm glad to see insurance companies are willing to cover drones and service repairs... but i would never go through RENTER's Insurance policies.
I had one years ago and for $100, I was covered upto $10,000 for losses. I was told repeated that I'd be covered and all would be...
Have you tried any other USB cables plugged into the charger to see if they will go in?
Connectors are finicky... especially on USB cables. They have these little tabs of metal that raise up OR down) to give the NEW cable a firm "Hold" feeling when they plug in. Older one's get bent up and...
You can PRELOAD your maps from Google at home and then use them in the field.
First, Access your home(?) Wifi with the S6 you want to use offline... then turn on GOOGLE MAPS.
Zoom out to the max area you are going to travel.
Go to the menu and you will find an option to download maps...
I would like to suggest making your own case - start with a SMALLER Snap_to_close case...you can find them in the sewing or Fishing tackle area of Walmart, or Hobby lobby or "Michael's" if you have any nearby. You can even add your own sponge foam (static free, if possible) from the same stores...
Back in my RC days, a runaway was usually caused by RF interference. These days RC use 2.4GHz freequencies, same band as Wireless networks, Wireless cameras, Microwave ovens...and even Cellphone towers. If the drone was near your transmitter, the interference source had to be nearby (within a...
So the altitude reported is relative to take off point. THAT is quite interesting! So much different that using a barometer, radio-altimeter or gps to calculate altitude - those DJI engineers were really considering what would be most useful to hobbyists flying drones. :)
