So I may find out mine has been restricted too...
Can't see it bothering me atm, but can imagine being asked to take pictures of the top of a 120m building and suddenly discovering I've been limited and it all being really frustrating.
And I'd never know unless I tried to break the limit. So...
I would ask DJI about this. I can see that the EU rules are supposed to prevent C0 (small) drones going above 120m, Which seems like a stupid rule to me, given what I posted above. Looks like Mini 4 Pro is restricted unless the sticker is removed and DJI are contacted. And then there are more...
I should probably clarify that it wasn't actually snowing when I flew. Just snow on the ground and quite cold temperatures, but a clear sunny day. But no ice then...
Only time I got it was flying on a cold misty day. So misty the drone vanished. Got a motor overload warning, brought it straight back down and it had some icing on the edges of the propellers (mini 3 pro). I now look at the temperature and relative humidity before flying, though I have no...
I had some zones I'd unlocked last year, when DJI put a big NFZ in covering most of central London. I got them to extend the time limit on them a few weeks ago, but couldn't import the new licences without updating the drone, controller and maps.
After going out and never once being asked to...
You can see them here: Drone Safety Map | Altitude Angel
Ignore the really big zones covering London. They are for manned aircraft.
EGLL LONDON CTR
EGLC LONDON/CITY CTR
EGR160 THE SPECIFIED AREA
The no drone zones are around the airports, Canary Wharf, City of London, Hyde Park (most of...
I don't think you need to do unlock requests now. The no fly zones are marked as:
"Enhanced Warning Zones: In these zones, you will be prompted by GEO at the time of flight to unlock the zone using the same steps as in an Authorization Zone, but you do not require a verified account or an...
Yeah. That is a bit weird. The other map shows the zones.
What I meant was, if you update the flysafe maps in the app / drone, you should be able to fly anywhere that isn't legally restricted. Near airports etc...
I had to do an update on the drone and controller when trying to install the...
Personally, I'd find a nice quiet retail park with plenty of empty car park on an early Sunday morning or evening. Worst that can happen is that you could be asked to leave if anyone was even there. By-laws have fines attached.
Also... Croydon's park by-laws look very old (1979) and don't...
Nope. I looked at the by-laws and no model aircraft powered by electric motors. You could stand outside the park and take off or land on the pavement, and control the drone from their, as long as the park was quiet.
Otherwise, there are areas where you can fly in parks, but only because the...
Looks like the 'London NFZ' has vanished.
I contacted DJI last night and got the to extend the unlock licence for the polygons I'd drawn last year.
But never had to use them and when I rechecked the map, the wider zone had gone.
Also looks like they've narrowed the City Airport exclusion...
That's the restricted area known as EGR157 Hyde Park. You'd need authorisation for that one.
That overlaps with the heliport at Battersea, so the next place you can fly without needing permission on the south bank is just south of Hammersmith Bridge.
