Should Drones Spy on American Citizens?

WOW! You must cringe under your front porch. Ham radio is a hobby enjoyed by over 700,000 American citizens Discharging firearms in SC in an unincorporated area is perfectly legal. It is called target practice. Along with fireworks and burning vegetation. Amongst other vile activities LOL

Should Drones Spy on American Citizens?

My right to privacy does not include drones flying overhead. My right to free speech has never been hindered.

Should Drones Spy on American Citizens?

My parents lived through Communism, Socialism, Nazism and Fascism. The USA gave them the opportunity to come to this country as legal immigrants. So here I live free and not a self imposed victim of the boogie man. Zooming and Booming in SC.

Should Drones Spy on American Citizens?

I'm well into my 70s. Live with wife and dog on a few acres. Been flying drones for over 20 years. Ham Radio is one hobby amongst dozens that I have tried. Not violating any zoning laws or worse. Fireworks are legal here. Along with shooting my guns in the back yard. Don't commit crimes via...

Interesting use for a drone...Ham Radio.

Thanks again for the info. "providing a service" would cover it I guess. I will delve into the definition some more. As to "laying wire" It is on my own property in pursuit of AMATUER RADIO in order to construct antennas. In which I have an FCC license. Not hardly littering. The antennas are in...

Interesting use for a drone...Ham Radio.

Thank you for the information. But, I don't "string" wire with my drone. I pull string up over the tree to use as a pull cord to pull up the wire. The wire would end up being way to heavy to pull up. As to part 107. I have no idea. I don't charge my Ham buddies. How does that play out? Bill

The WSPR transmitter only puts out 200 MW.....so its probably ok. Not sure about the 100 watts. Maybe go QRP to start on HF.

Very Cool! I have thought about flying a 26 gauge wire antenna up a couple of hundred feet and running WSPR on it and see what happens. 100 Watts may fry the bird LOL

Interesting use for a drone...Ham Radio.

Here is a quick description of my system. I use an old DJI Phantom 3 Standard. Mainly because of the large landing skids. The skids have a brace/camera protector between them. I fasten a stiff wire probe to the center of the brace. with about 4 inches hanging directly forward. Like a refueling...

Interesting use for a drone...Ham Radio.

I will do that. I built a pneumatic launcher. And it worked. Just had issues with the line feeding properly. I finally figure out that laying the line out on the ground between me and the tree worked well. At which point I said hmmm I can pull that up with my drone. VOILA!
