In the UK we have a 5km No Fly Zone around any airport and a RPZ (Runway Protection Zone) that sticks out of the circle. This is our local, very small airport that only has a few private flights a day and no commercial traffic.
These clips are proving very popular, for mounting Flytron Strobe lights on Mavic 2, Mini 2 and Air 2. There are several different types, down facing, rear facing and a V clip that takes one of each. All sold in pairs. The Air 2 ones are available for rear arms or front arms. They hold the...
I crashed my Mini 2 into a waterfall pool. It was completely submerged a foot deep for about a minute. I took the battery out immediately, rushed home with it and dried it out with a hairdrier into the battery compartment. It works perfectly now, phew! I don't think the same would happen in salt...
I spoke at length to customer service who told me twice that the drone itself, without batteries, must go in the hold. I guess it is to stop you having a working drone in the cabin.
Thing is, if they did throw the rule book at me I'd have to stump up another £48 for a hold bag, we're only travelling with cabin bags. I daren't risk it:mad:
Just found this old thread. I'm travelling from Glasgow to Exeter and I have been told by customer service and found on their website that the drone itself must be in the hold bag and the batteries in your cabin bag. They are absolutely firm on that. I can't see any possible reason, apart from...
Back home in the UK now.
Didn't have any problem at all going through airport security, either on the way there or back. I discharged the batteries to less than 50% but I didn't need to because no-one asked anything about it. I just put the Mavic and separate battery (in a plastic bag) in the...
When we were at the Botanical Gardens I asked very politely but was told a definite "not allowed here". I didn't push it as my wife was very tired and wanted to get back to the hotel.
Thanks so much for that Brett. I've got Airmap so I'll trust that. My wife's convalescing and I'm staring at the walls so I want to try and get out and fly, even if its only a shot of the hotel roof! I'll have to be careful not to ascend past all the windows!
I thought it looked safe in this...
I'm really confused. We're staying at the Drury Inn at Creve Coeur and the FAA map shows that we're just outside two no fly zones. However, the B4UFly app shows we're in a NFZ. Which do I trust? I'd like to put the bird up tonight at dusk.
