I would start by checking if the smartphone device is fully charged when it occurs... Could just be the reason for a connection loss between device and RC.
@ SunnyD:
RC charged at 100% ?
Iphone charged at 80% or better ?
I do experience such issues with my device (S7 Edge) when the smartphone doesn't have high bat level.
If I were you i would just try with another device (Iphone or Android) to check.
On my side I suspect OTG protocol...
Spark is the perfect drone to start with.
Rock solid, reliable, fun to run, nice pict quality.
Learn with the Spark and purchase a more expensive one later.
I would go with the Spark. It's a great, fun and cheap little machine. Strong and simple gimball. Excellent pict and vid quality.
Looks like a toy, runs like a plane.
Overall it's "rock" solid, definitely DJI's most robust drone.
If you choose the MP2 you won't need your MP1 any more.
Nothing wrong with your MA imho but overexposure. There is so much light; it's a pretty hard exercice !
Use an ND filter and reduce EV and you'd get better results i suppose.
For me the scenario is crystal clear;
- you flought your bird under the powerlines
- but then you lost connection in this area and your bird initiated RTH, thus ascending above the powerlines altitude (by chance you did not crashed at this time !)
- you decided to reduce altitude during RTH...
I sent my MPP at 3000m ASL in the french Alps. Just had great pleasure to fly my bird there !
I share both the DJIGO4 "screen shot" and a rush.
Both are available on 1080p 60fps.
"chance/ways you can be caught": in my opinion, very little for that point. There are many reasons you could be caught "before": not respecting VLOS, over altitude, restricted areas, flying over people, traffic, private places,...
For sure your MP has an issue with the image quality. Could be humidity on the lens ?
Don't get me wrong, the MP2 has a better camera but you're facing another problem.
