Wish I had that figured out the first time I flew mine. Somehow I figured it'd be safer to fly indoors while I learned and I quickly found out that going from a well lit living room to a darkish stairway was not a transition that the Mini liked, lol. Luckily the props only got a little scuffed...

I believe I had this error perhaps 115 times in a single flight before the most recent update. It was super windy and I had to fly the drone back to me against the wind.

I have taken to hand launching and landing my mini as well to keep my camera out of the dirt, I don't expect I will often find myself in terrain flat and level enough to launch well off the ground, but it works well from the hand.

Thanks, that is more or less what I was thinking, batteries in an interior jacket pocket, or maybe slip a hand warmer in the Fly More case on top of the battery hub as there is quite a bit of room there. Do you think the current flow from discharge during actual flight will keep the batteries...

Interesting observation. I'veonly hsd opportunity to get mine out twice now, both times right around 0 degrees Celcius so I don't have experience with the batteries at a different temperature for reference but it is starting to finally get cold here again so I'll likely have mine out in -10 to...

Also, along with the recommendation above to use the C mode when filming, you can also adjust the gimbal speed and responsiveness, that may be useful for you to play with.

That is the cinematic mode. It's designed to enhance shooting video by making the movement slower and more fluid, so not necessarily meant for beginners but it should enhance filming for them, and the more experienced pilots too.

I haven't timed it yet(also haven'r run my batteries down below 30% yet either), but I feel like it has been about an hour or so for each battery to charge from that state of depletion, so that seems to coincide with what what you have found. I'll have to try and time my charge next go around...

Same story here as I am only a short distance West and North of you, but as long as it isn't snowing I'll be flying outside(well maybe not on the -30 to -40 days).
