Launching from boat - Mini 4 Pro went straight into the sea

And yet so many crash into the water for no reason. Perhaps the correct statement isn't "no-one has ever" but more that "Rarely people have had problems with radio waves getting scrambled". Specifically GPS signals. Maybe some of the satellite signals ARE bouncing off the water. Most of the...

Launching from boat - Mini 4 Pro went straight into the sea

I don't know if anyone has considered this about flying over water. Water is reflective. Radio signals are, essentially, light. So, it kind of makes sense that a radio device that relies on super critical radio waves, might get confused on water with constant changing reflective surfaces.

Launching from boat - Mini 4 Pro went straight into the sea

Stories like this make me afraid to fly over water at all.

Flying a drone at a kite festival

That's kind of what I was thinking of doing. From afar, not close up. Of course I'd also want to fly my own kites a bit.

Global Tariffs blocked by US Trade Court

Yeah, that's not how China got so rich. Luckily for me, I know quite a few Chinese people so I might get more of an unbiased truth.

Global Tariffs blocked by US Trade Court

They certainly didn't get ultra wealthy by manufacturing $2 Temu items. Or on the 9% of their economy that's US related.

Global Tariffs blocked by US Trade Court

It's going to take a few minutes for this to work through the system but if it holds up, there's going to be a lot of lawsuits from people asking for their tariffs back for the last few months.

Flying a drone at a kite festival

Having been a kite flyer for over 30 years, I'm well aware of the maneuverability of the kites. When I'm flying the kites, I'm focused on only two things. Flying the kite and not bumping into people. I've never been distracted by other things (seagulls) in the sky. Maybe I'm unique that way...

Flying a drone at a kite festival

At this time there are no flight restrictions at the festival area. No TFRs either.

Flying a drone at a kite festival

First off, obviously staying away from being over crowds and not interfering with the kites. Second, knowing that a good kite festival will have some wind. What would be harmful in flying at a kite festival? What would be the best angles to film? What kinds of patterns would be good to fly?

Fell out of sky, now stuck in tree.

If you don't know which pine tree, it's tough. If you do know which pine tree, find some kid who doesn't play video games 24/7 (hard to find) and offer them $50 to climb up and get it. Or find a pole that can reach. Pine trees are climbable. Just need to get to the first branch.

Amazon drone makes emergency landing in Arizona neighborhood

As a business model, I think the drone deliveries probably come with a hefty delivery fee. The time it takes to recharge them makes it unlikely to be a mainstream method of delivery. There's a market for trafficless delivery, I'm sure. With a weight limit of 5 lbs, there's a very limited...

Amazon drone makes emergency landing in Arizona neighborhood

If there are kids kicking a ball around and it lands in your yard, are you legally obligated to give it back? If it landed on my property they'd get it back, eventually. I wouldn't make it easy for them, though. But that's just because I'm "bad".

    Is this legal?

Technically, legally, you can even fly 400 feet over the top of the tower. As long as you're not doing it for compensation.
