Does anyone else get that pit in their stomach...

I pay State Farm $60 a year for a $1700 coverage on my Mavic Pro. I got a little extra so it covers the accessories, in case someone rips off my carry case or something. Fully covered, no worries

Unintentional Aquatic Touch and Go Disaster (Footage)

Sure does, if it was salt water, corrosion is a given, but river water can be cleaned much more easily. I'm an I.T guy, So I'd rip it open and clean everything with Isopropyl and a toothbrush. I saved a $7,000 file server that way once, it worked for another 4 years, after being underwater in a...

Unintentional Aquatic Touch and Go Disaster (Footage)

yes, this is more effective. Rice does not absorb water without heat!! Test it sometime, put minute rice in a pan with water and do not heat, check it in an hour, rice will still be rock hard.

    Goodbye to the crap drones!

Welcome from the wilds of Detroit. I still just fly my original Mavic Pro, with iPad mini. I'm waiting to upgrade until the FCC formalizes / finalizes the new technology requirements. after which, drones that don't talk to the FCC won't be allowed to fly.

Who/How/Why -- do you trust non-DJI automation apps? (Litchi, DroneLink, DroneDeploy, etc...)

I agree 100%. "How do I trust other apps?" I don't, not at all. However, I DO trust STATE FARM. I bought an insurance policy for my Mavic Pro. It's $60 dollars, US, per year. Total coverage, $1,700 So if Litchi looses my drone, I'll end up with a new one! Kind of makes me hope it happens...

I am going to build a flight tower

I want to do the same thing, but at my nephews house in Pacific Beach. Then fly the 1/4 mile to the beach and check out the bikini’s! Lol. Oops, I meant the pier.

    Downloading images

You should be able to do it with the USB cable, but the MP needs to be on, pain sometimes. I got a microUSB to USB card reader. About ten bucks. Transfers faster and doesn’t need to be wired to a powered on bird.

    Ipad Mini 4 - Confusion

You know you don’t need to activate the cellular service. The GOS chip is only on the cellular models, but performs completely independently from cellular. If you pay for the cellular mini, you are not required to activate the cell

    Idiot award?

My buddy from Delta Airlines gave me 2 of those. I use them the same way.

I’d be very glad to assist in that one!!

    Yet another Mavic knockoff

Have you considered the Spark? Not really cheap, until compared to the Mavic. My wife loves her Spark. Uses it indoors all the time. Even doing some wedding and reunion photography.

    Mavic or Spark

I bought a Spark, 2 months later I “outgrew it” gave it to my wife, who loves it, and bought a Mavic. In my mind it comes down to this: do you want to fly it indoors at all? If so, it’s the Spark. Otherwise . . .

Just broke my Mavic on the first day!

While practicing in the back yard my Husky jumped up and caught it in her mouth on the first day. Needless to say she dropped it instantly. After that, the gamble wouldn’t initialize every time, when it did mid flight the camera started bouncing crazily like a kid on sugar. I bought the gimbal...

    Accosted and Vandalized

BTW. If I were able to edit my own posts, I’d have deleted that one in less than 5 minutes after posting. Bad case of “paw in mouth” and I regret wasting my and Y’alls time with it. Sorry. [emoji17]
