Maybe it would be a good idea to replace it completely - it's only held on with a couple of screws and the relevant parts aren't hard to source... in fact: the specific part will cost you the dollar equivalent to £3.71 on eBay -
Thanks. Good to know. That sounds like it's more hassle than it's worth. If my luggage was checked all the way through and I was just transiting, it wouldn't be an issue.
