No Need in 3 threads. Here it is.

No details on remote identification...? I had assumed the next mavic pro release would be fully ready for it. But I don't see any mention of it. Doubt I would upgrade without it on-board and ready to go.... or at least a clear and easy path to get it going.

Mavic 2 Pro Normal vs DLOG

Interesting Chris. I mucked about for awhile with Fusion Lens Distort and found an amazing result! Using the Distortion setting gave the same poor result. However, using the Curvature Y setting at .13 gave a major improvement! So it IS the Lens Correction on the Edit page Inspector AND the...

Mavic 2 Pro Normal vs DLOG

Here are a few more samples. The first set are full shots. The second set are zoomed 200% into the bottom left corner area. 4k/30fps/FOV Dlog - DJI LUT added Normal - SOC (straight out of camera) Lens correction done in camera (Normal) is far superior than what can be achieved by stretching the...

Mavic 2 Pro Normal vs DLOG

The main issue I have with Dlog is with the lens correction. By 'de-warping' the image to remove the lens distortion, it causes the image to blur, considerably more so on the edges of the image. Using the 'Normal' profile, the lens correction is done in camera and does an excellent job without...

Does/ will DJI make propeller guards for Mavic Pro 2?

Thanks BigAI07. Glad that recurrent training will be online and free! And: "Compliance dates: Compliance with §§ 89.510 and 89.515 is required September 16, 2022. Compliance with §§ 89.105, 89.110, and 89.115, and subpart C of part 89 is required September 16, 2023." Here's the link to info...

Does/ will DJI make propeller guards for Mavic Pro 2?

I think Dan is right. My understanding is the prop guards must fully surround the props, not just from the side/edges as in the earlier products show. And the new rules aren't in effect yet.....

Loose leg on Mavic 2 Pro HELP

I had the same issue as you, even a tad more separation. (Back arm) I clamped the front leg to a table, used a heavy application of Gorilla superglue, and hung some weight off the other arm. This allowed it to compress back together tight. Let it dry overnight and all is good@

Errors attempt to update to v01.00.0820 SC software.

Updated with no issues - took 25 min. Nice to have an update work for a change. 1) turn on SC, change screen timeout to 30 min (swipe down from top and click the settings gear icon) 2) start Assistant 2 on computer 3) plug USB C into controller, then attach to computer 4) Assistant will...

Mavic 2 Pro, saying compass error every single flight

Traveling 30 miles from last takeoff triggers a compass recalibration request, indicating a need to recalculate the magnetic declination for proper calibration.

Mavic 2 Pro, saying compass error every single flight

Thanks for the links. Some great info/reading. sar104 gives great details: ' it has a stored global magnetic field model in firmware and as soon as it gets a GPS position lock on startup it computes the declination (and inclination) from the model and adds the declination to the magnetic heading...

Mavic 2 Pro, saying compass error every single flight

I get a compass re-calibration needed message from time to time. I figure it's often due to flying in different locations and the compass is very sensitive - which is a good thing. Magnetic declination will cause different readings in different locations. And it takes like 30 seconds to 'do the...

How to set my exposure for a video shot with varying levels of brightness - e.g., from interior to exterior

Full manual. And usually 'sunny' white balance, lowest ISO possible, and an ND 8 filter. And then try to plan for shots on lighting, keeping the sun to the backside. So filming a house, do the front with the sun coming from behind (in the morning) and the back also from behind (in the...

ND Filter : Which strength do you use the most?

I almost always fly with a ND 8 on. Sometimes with no filter or a 16. I've never used a 4 or 64. So be sure to include an ND 8 in your purchase.

How to set my exposure for a video shot with varying levels of brightness - e.g., from interior to exterior

Getting a smooth exposure transition for a large change in one shot is not really possible. The changes will be harsh and abrupt and noticeable. The way I approach it is to break it up into separate shots, and then also tweak it in post-production. 1) expose for and shoot the forest floor 2) Fly...
