the new props should come with new screws that you are supposed to use. Those already have blue threadlocker on them. First run the old screws down the threads in the motor covers to clean out the old threadlocker. It's said to be easy to cross-thread the screws so be careful to get them in...

mine is as low as possible, as high as necessary. I also see RTH as a last resort and not as a lazy way to get the drone back home and as such i so far have never used it or had to use it.

i fly my Mini using an iphone 5S that i've bought used for $50 a few years ago. You don't HAVE to spend much money, just do your homework and get one that will work.
