    London Next Week

Not a chance matey. (Legally). However...and I’m not advocating illegality, others have done very very short flights, ‘cut n run’ then edited the flights into a short film, (see you tube). But be aware, that any flying around London will most likely be illegal and attract the attention of the...

Besides flying Drones.. What other hobbies does everyone enjoy?

Used to ride motorcycles but ‘she who must be obeyed’ said the roads were getting too dangerous, so I convinced her that Paramotoring was much safer, so apart from flying my drone, I fly myself.

DJI Refresh *doesn't* cover sunk drones!?

I fully endorse what you say, my thumbs are way way up that they are breaking CAA (FAA) regulations. From 3000 miles away. Their fame has certainly travelled.

It is a great source of practical help, a great crowd, please enlighten me what a mommy’s basement as**ole is, I’ve never heard of that expression over my side of the pond, but it sounds great and useful!!

Hello from the U.K. There are currently NO licences required to fly as a hobby flyer in the U.K. just follow the CAA drone regulations which are simple. Basics are 1. No higher than 400ft above ground level. 2. Keep visual line of site with your drone. (Looking at the screen while its 1 mile...

I’m going to ‘butt out’ of this for a while guys, I’m feeling pretty bad about something I said in a post about a member whom respect and his views and opinions I respect. I’m not in a good place at the moment about it, it was unlike me and I’m struggling with it. Thanks guys, A very Happy New...

Very true. I suppose it’s like the internet, or any new technology for that matter. The law seems to be on catchup and I dare say there will be a few ‘test cases’ brought before the courts. Our hobby seems to be evolving all the time, and so fast, it’s a shame that it has been linked with a...

Could be a problem with that because the average policeman hasn’t a clue about air laws and how can he prove you were, say, at 500ft without calibrated equipment, he can’t ask to see yours and it’s not calibrated anyway.

Thank you, it was most out of character and I will delete the offending post because it teaches us nothing about drones and doesn’t add anything meaningfull to this great debate on this excellent forum.

I unreservedly apologise to sar104. And anyone else I had offended. I was in a ratty mood because I’d suddenly been called out to cover for someone and it was my day off. It was wrong of me to take it out on anyone, I had mis-quoted due to my ratty mood, and it was entirely wrong of me to have...

    More about Gatwick Airport Terrorists

The chief constable of Sussex police was on BBC National Radio (and we all trust the BBC don’t we?) and firstly apologised to the couple who were arrested and had their house and belonging searched but believed that they (the police) had probable cause. He further said that the drone video was...

It is certainly looking as if your scenario will be the outcome. From the very first few hours of this fiasco I have voiced my opinion, (and been vilified for voicing it), on here and other sites, that something just doesn’t add up. I wasn’t advancing any conspiracy theories, merely saying that...

The problem they now have is that without a drone or evidence of one, then no crime has been committed. Certainly no violation of airspace crime. So they’ve got nothing, zilch, nada. Except red faces.
