Yeah Jason is IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of. I did the same for about a year and a half, and gave up.

I haven't tested it in a while, but I'm pretty sure it gives you the coordinates right on screen. You can walk up to the point using the map on your crystal sky, or input the coordinates into google maps etc to navigate to the location.

One thing to do is turn on ESC beeping, as that'll cause the drone to beep when it's disconnected from the controller. Another option is to utilize the flight records from the drone to see where it's last recorded position was, and then use your device's GPS to navigate to that location.

Yes those new batteries are in hibernation mode, so no harm in doing so.

The Part IX regs are only for RPAS that are 250g and above, so as long as you don't cause a hazard to aviation safety, or people on the ground, you should be fine. What that's interpreted as though is up to the reader.

Why would you avoid it in this instance? I've had great success with poorly performing batteries coming back into balance after a low drain and then fully back to 100%.

I'd drain that battery down to 8%, and then charge it fully again. It sounds like it was probably an unexpected voltage drop or something, that could be rectified by recalibrating the battery.

Thats good news, as they aren’t losing any heat while in flight.

Yeah they don't generate much heat at all, but when flying at -7C, my battery started at 17.1C and finished at 18C. That’s good news at that cold temp. Colder than that may be different.
