I don't know if this will help but i've found if i switch the drone off whilst its still recording the files get corrupt, my other drones never had the same quirk, so i've taken to making sure recording is stopped before i power it off. Could also be as simple as your sdcard slot/usb/reader is...

I too have set an s curve as many of us have, still not happy with it though. It feels a bit "odd" as you point out, still no where near as happy with the xp as i was with my mav pro and mav pro 2. I might try the straight line too.
