Love it for my M2Z. I recently picked up a Mini 2 that doesn't support it... I hate having to use my cell with the controller. There's a ~1 second delay that isn't there with the SC, takes a bit to get used to.

I am not in favor of the proposal as written. There are some good points and bad, but the internet requirement is simply unrealistic. In the US we are not to the point of ubiquitous internet; not to mention home-built quads that don't even have the ability to connect to an internet-connected...
Fair enough, there's lots of variables to consider. I've been surprised that I haven't really needed to download maps all the often, and I don't do missions. VLOS only for the mavic, although I do enjoy my hobby FPV builds :)
I'm very happy with my decision to get a Smart Controller. Turn on the SC, turn on the AC, Go Fly. No worrying about connecting a device and the troubles that come along with that.
