    Help: Drowned Mavic Pro

Thanks for the investigation and clarification (although I wasn't in sport mode). Obviously I should not have flown so close to the water though. She still swims with the fishes...and the legendary Dobhar-chú.

    Help: Drowned Mavic Pro

I wonder if I had a larger, pro drone, and attached a DSLR to it, and flew that into the volcano, would my DSLR be covered?

    Help: Drowned Mavic Pro

Well that was exciting! Thanks for all the research and discussion. My drone is still at the bottom of the lake, but at least I'm not completely totally 100% at fault...99% at fault maybe.

    Help: Drowned Mavic Pro

And just found out my household insurance doesn't cover drones, even though I have Miscellaneous Personal Items cover, so my phone, cameras, laptop, and even music production gear are covered, but not drones, even though my drone lives beside my camera in the boot of the car most of the time...

    Help: Drowned Mavic Pro

No, I'm afraid not. I ran back to my car, changed in to a pair of shorts, jumped into the very very cold lake, swam out a few metres, tested the depth, realised it got very deep very quickly, and swam back in again. I've contacted a scuba diver who may be able to retrieve it but advises that...

    Help: Drowned Mavic Pro

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I lowered the drone to 2 ft off above a concrete jetty first, then pushed the right stick forward fully sending it out over the lake at full speed. The surface of the lake was approx. half a foot below the starting point, which means the drone was flying at...

    Help: Drowned Mavic Pro

Hi, Could anyone help interpret my flight log etc for my Mavic Pro's last airborne moments, before it decided to roll over and swim with the fishes? I was flying low to the surface of a lake, then began to lift, when the controller beeped with the warning 'Drone has rolled over', and I looked...

Drowned Mavic - where to decode logs etc?

I may have a scuba diver who is willing to go and get it...not sure yet. Is there any way to extract last known coordinates from the DJI Go app or the controller? I have the video, but would also like to explore why it rolled over. I was flying low to the water then began to lift (slowly, I...

Drowned Mavic - where to decode logs etc?

Hi Thunderdrones, No, I have neither...not sure what State Farm is actually. I have a scuba diver though!

Drowned Mavic - where to decode logs etc?

Hi, It's been quite a while since I was here. I recently dropped my Mavic Pro into a lake after it rolled over while low to the water. I have the DAT file downloaded...I think...but not sure what to do with it now. Can anyone offer any help? Regards, Conor

    Nervous Novice, Scared of Heights!

Thanks, I'll def bear that in mind. I've noticed that descending/ascending while moving s;ightlforward seems to offer more control.

    Nervous Novice, Scared of Heights!

Cheers Gary. I think what's holding me back is mostly a fear that the Mavic might be dragged away by a strong wind, as it is really very small. It tends to be quite windy here where I live, although I haven't flown in winds over 12mph (using the Hover and UAV apps to check). I'm on a peninsula...
