Advice for Low Level Flights over Water - Skimming Water Surface

Nice shots. Did you have any GPS signal issues when you dropped down in the ravine? I was in a similar situation and I couldn't get more than 15 feet up. ....but I was trying to take off from the base. I see you came in from the top.

    Nervous Neighbor

I know this might be a little late but before I started to fly, I used the neighborhood app to tell everyone I have a drone, where I was going to fly and why. This went a very long way to avoid future situations. I’m now known as the the coyote chaser to keep them away from the neighborhood...

    Flying over deep canyons risk

I’ve flown in and around a lot of similar terrain and the advise you have gotten is great. One more thing to learn from my personal experience is... I launched in a deep canyon and the drone would not fly higher than 15 feet because it could not get adequate GPS signals. I missed some awesome...

    The future of drone Video

I have a prediction for future drones based on recent camera technologies by GoPro, Rylo and a bunch of others.... I'd bet a paycheck, DJI is going to implement this on their next Mavic. It makes total sense. Gimbals will become a thing of the past for camera stabilization and pointing. Post...

Anyone waiting for the Hasselblad 2X zoom coming out next year?

    Drone down

I've flown in the area you were and I had similar issues but it was not windy. I later found out the place has a lot of aerial land mines in the form of highly magnetic deposits and government transmission sites. There were a couple places where the magnetic interference was so bad I couldn't...

What are the little things about the Mavic Pro that you love?

Captains log, supplemental... What I don't like is you can't fly over about 15 feet if your Mavic can't see satellites. I couldn't get good videos because of this as I was in a box canyon where I was GPS blind. ....missed some wonderful shots.

What are the little things about the Mavic Pro that you love?

I love that the camera actually tilts up from horizontal (about 20 degrees) compared to the M1. I can now get the sky in sunsets/rises. I love that you can change the memory card without unfolding the arms. I love hyperlapse. Wow what a lot of fun. I love the dynamic range of the MP2Pro. Gosh...

    M2P Image Quality

New Gradient ND filters from PolarPro..amazing

Looking at the responses in this thread, I think the real use for graduated ND filters was overlooked. I've used these with my Mavic Pro often and it greatly helps with the dynamic range. The contrast is very high here in CO and it's a fine line between blowing out clouds or over saturating...

Exciting "Real" news for solar power on drones

It looks like they are making headway on solar power to augment power for fixed wing drones.

    Case recommendations

I'm looking for one as well. My requirements are: Protection when thrown into my car for trips (Hard shell), I can easily see it, bright color or I can put bright tape on it), It fits my Mavic soft bag packed and ready to go (open case take out the packed drone bag, go hike). Not over $100. I...

Gettng Cold Feet - Is Hassling The Norm or the Exception?

I forgot to mention... When I used the NextDoor app to send notices, I got a response from two of my neighbors who also fly. It was great.

Gettng Cold Feet - Is Hassling The Norm or the Exception?

It's an exception. Like most news, you only hear the exceptions in life not real life. I also sent a general notice using the NextDoor app. Everyone in my neighborhood uses it. (Again, only good if your neighborhood uses it) I got lots of great positive and thank you responses. It sets the tone...

    Calling a Tower

Does anyone have an idea when the flight notification form in the B4Ufly app becomes real? It sure would make life easier for drone pilots and ATC personnel too.
