What is the definition of REAL pilot?

The day the pilot no longer have the ability to take over control and fly manually, he is no longer a pilot and has become a navigator instead.

What is the definition of REAL pilot?

If the plane, multirotor, helicopter whatever needs constant control input to take off, stay in up the air and land successfully, then you are in fact piloting it. But when it comes to GPS enabled drones, you are just pointing in the direction you want them to go. Do you call yourself a driver...

    Mavic Pro Battery Mod

Demagnetization is a gradual process that starts slowly. And 175F is the 'rule of thumb' temperature for when demagnetization starts. Actual temperature thresholds may vary depending on make. The more practical 'rule' in RC is that if you burn your fingers touching a motor just after a flight...

    It is permanent.

At around 80C (175F) the magnets start to demagnetize. And at around 180C (360F) the solder starts to melt. So around 80C you start to degrade motor performance, and anything over that is just a question of what goes first. Total demagnetizing or melting wires insulation / solder points.

Yeah push boundaries is good. But whatever you do. Don't touch the software! It's lethally dangerous you know..

Is there actually an answer to the camera settings question?

ehh..? The image you are looking at now showing the difference is a jpeg.

Is there actually an answer to the camera settings question?

Despite the small camera sensor size on the Mavic, it is actually surprisingly good. The internal JPEG and video processing on the other hand, is really, really bad. Here is a quick still image comparison showing internal Jpeg straight from the Mavic vs DNG raw data from the same shot.

    Dispelling some myths for clarity

I don' expect DSLR performance from a 1/2.3" sensor. That's not what I am talking about. I just want something resembling descent/normal signal processing quality, so that we at least get results that are representative of what the sensor can do. It is very easy to see what I am talking about...

Youtube quote straight from the creator of that video. So like everybody else he is using +1 to avoid the blur spots, and then has to use Neat Video noise reduction and a custom noise profile for the Mavic to salvage the video.

    Dispelling some myths for clarity

No, and this is why I get so frustrated. All they need to do is to turn the NR filter strength down a bit, so that we get the same effect as +1 minus the over sharpening.

    Dispelling some myths for clarity

But the thing is, we are not talking about sensor quality here. Just basic understanding of how to process raw sensor data in a proper way.

    Dispelling some myths for clarity

Most of you are just patting your self on the shoulder, without saying anything even remotely relevant to the topic or of any technical worth. I am still waiting for a reasonable explanation why the Mavic NR filter is behaving the way it is. Limiting bandwidth and resolution/fps options for...

    Dispelling some myths for clarity

You guys are missing the point completely. There should not be blurred spots like what we are getting regardless of shooting conditions or camera settings. I have never seen NR behaving this bad on any other camera. Have you? I would prefer some image noise from a small sensor any day, over...

    Dispelling some myths for clarity

If they wanted to hide the NR settings for simplicity, at least make sure the forced NR filter works as intended. Right now it is doing more harm then good. What we have now is not normal NR filter behavior. It's either very badly implemented or they have it cranked up to 11 as standard. Then...
