Another crash, what are the rules on this?

Why even allow this to be posted in the first place? This should be a non-topic as it pegs the stupid meter. Continuing the thread is just sensationalizing something that makes us responsible pilots look bad.

    Beep, Beep

Is it possible to enable my Mavic Pro to start beeping upon command from the controller? I recently had my drone fall from the sky (another story...) into tall, wet grass. Had it began beeping I could have had an easier time locating it. I tried RTFM but nothing lept out at me.

    Crash & burn... hopefully learn

Sorry, but if someone is flying that irresponsibly and nearly injures my family, the pieces parts would end up in the nearest dumpster...

    Low flying aircraft

I launched my Mavic Pro from a field next to my house. Gained enough altitude (100 ft) to clear the Pine Trees that ringed a pond behind the house. The purpose was to photograph the property. Suddenly out of nowhere and flying treetop level a vintage P51 Mustang roars into view luckily behind...

    Lost Mavic Pro

Which raises the question if a drone will "Auto-Rotate" in after power loss as with helicopters?

    Airline Travel with Mavic Pro

I travel by air between Florida and Massachusetts. With my Mavic Pro and its components nested safely in my backpack hard case, I box it and send it out via USPS. $40.00 later, I arrive at my destination where my drone safely awaits. Air travel is stressful enough as it is and I personally do...

Flying out of sight. Tips and techniques wanted

I am a little disappointed to read postings that put down the RTH feature and possibly make new flyers apprehensive about using this mode. It is sometimes the last resort to recovering your investment. I recently had to launch from a tightly bunched group of trees in order to fly over a pond. To...

Flew 830 ft over water and lost signal! Help me figure it out please

Once again reference is made to problems arising after loading new firmware/software. I am going to stick with the set I have until these problems are addressed. Perhaps the next firmware/software will be better.

    Very disappointed in Mavic Pro!

Wait until he finds out it can only fly for 20 minutes. A whole new rant, I fear...

    Crashed!

Altitude, Altitude, Altitude my friend!!! I crashed mine in a similar situation but fortunately land in tall grass. My advice? When in doubt climb!

    Beep-Beep-Beep...

Guilty... I did not "RTFM" Thanks for the advice.

    Beep-Beep-Beep...

Unless I missed a setting it would be most helpful to enable a lost Mavic Pro to "Beep" upon receiving a command from the controller. Assuming of course sufficient battery power is available. In my most recent experience tromping around in tall wet grass, a "Beep" would have lead me right to...

    Altitude....

A recent post regarding "Anxiety" hit close to home (pun intended) as I recently flew my Mavic Pro into a power line. As a CNC machine operator I draw a parallel to the saying "It is not if you crash the machine but more when you crash it." Same applies to flying drones. Personally...

Flew Mavic for a few seconds with gimbal clamp still on, did I damage gimbal?

I have done the same thing with no damage. I now have a little note (Check List) taped to the inside of my backpack case to run down before launching. A little reminder never hurts.

Saving battery by shuting off engines midflight

If this forum had section for posting stupid ideas where we could rate them from 1-10, this one would come in pretty near the top. Take a $1,200 piece of precision engineering, fly it to 2.5 Kilometers altitude and then cut all means of control/maneuvering? Send it plummeting to earth hoping for...
