    Skin Choice

Orange in blue sky and against snow really help with LOS for me.

    Stick Control

For my Mavic Pro, I also adjusted the responsiveness of the controls using the EXP settings in the DJI GO 4 app. That helped take out some of the stick response based on the degree of stick pressure that you apply. You can also adjust the Brake, Attitude and Yaw endpoint sensitivity. I...

    Obstacle Avoidance Sun

Thanks, had issue today when Mavic Pro refused to move forward after I backed it away an up for a reveal shot. The sun apparently (low and late afternoon) was causing the issue as I had the OA on. The battery was low and I had to “turn” drone around and backed it down, once lower, it seemed to...

Should a Mavic 2 Be Off by 8 to 11 Feet for Waypoint Missions and Altitude?

Thanks to all on this thread. I was “way pointing” a drive up my drive way (1/4 mile) through the woods up to our clearing. I would ”fly program“ the waypoints in both DJI GO 4 and Litchi and when I ran them at slow speed, so I could follow at 3mph, each one had variations on the run that put...

    Skin Choice

Got orange skin from DecalGirl.com and it really improved the drone visibility against snow and trees (green pines and brown hardwoods that surround my property. Sorry, did not get pic in sky, but you can see how it contrasts.

    Phone vs Tablet

Just flew yesterday with temps around 37-38F. the iPad mini battery did fine and acted as normal. One hour with screen on brightest setting drained down to 70% from 100% after one hour of use. Seems temperature below that is issue. The mini iPad (2nd gen) is great for flying using camera on...

    Draining Phone Battery

Verified today in 37F weather that iPad mini battery did OK and as expected after one hour of use with screen brightness all the way up. It drained from 100% To about 70%. The previous uses in 15-20F weather really drained battery fast as previously noted.

    Flying in Cold Weather

Update to previous post on Feb 24 2021 - flew in 37F weather and iPad Mini 2 did not have battery loss. It had typical battery loss for one hour of use with brightest screen lumination on. Looks like the very cold weather was the impact. Showing new neon orange skin for MA Pro that really...

    Mavic Video is Crooked/Not Level

I had the same horizon issue on my MA Pro after gimbal repair (due to small crash and overheat of gimbal motors). I replaced the wire harness and I had to fo the “calibrate gimbal” after a flight test to see if repair worked. Did not have to adjust gimbal roll as described but was going to go...

    Litchi on Mavic Pro

I just used Litchi to pre-program waypoints function. I find it easy to use for that function and basic functions while flying, but prefer DJI GO4 for flying and cinematic vids and stills. I need to use the Litchi more to see which of the programmed flying modes i prefer or not, over DJI GO4...

    Flying in Cold Weather

Flew MA Pro in 15-20F weather and only problem was iPhone and IPad battery showing quick drain to empty, controller still worked well for recover. Iphone and Ipad recovered battery power to about 70% when warmed up, so keeping them warm during use would be an approach to explore.

    landing pad

I use a cut out piece of Luan plywood (thin, but pretty firm) and also add the Mavic Pro landing leg extensions when outdoors and landing on soil, snow, driveway, etc. Seems to work good, but not very portable (the plywood) aside from being under my pickup seat.

    Draining Phone Battery

Thanks Oldi, seeing the iPhone 6s Plus and iPad mini 2 showing drain after 20 minutes when outside at 25-30F. But, when I warm them up inside (allow condensation to dissipate), they show 70% power!. Weird eh?
