As an aside, I never fly a used battery. Always top them up. There has been a good discussion on battery management in the forums on several items to know. Wish I could find it.
OK but
1. To be clear if both waypoints are at 20 meters the drone will not dip down between the two waypoints?
2. Did I read somewhere that OA is not to be trusted over water?
Thanks all,
Wait a moment if at all waypoints the AGL is set to 20 meters will the path between each waypoint remain at 20 meters? Unless then you set one waypoint to 2 meters AGL (never) then the drone will decent gradually to that level?
Help me understand this. TY
Gadetdude,
I did just this in the office, was granted approval and then loaded it to the drone in the office. Thought I was all set. Once in the field using my phone as a hotspot was getting no internet notifications when trying to unlock.
I don't understand the extra layer of big brother even...
As a update I asked one of the parachute companies if they had a 3rd party ASTM certification testing on a Mavic 3. They did not. I did get a copy of their internal test results and it looked promising. Showing a impact speed of 3.3m/s with energy at impact of 4.90 joules of energy Guess it's...
Oh, that's terrible! I had no idea premiums can be that high. I don't know the specifics of your coverage; you did mention other equipment besides the drone and controller. So, it's hard to make a apples-to-apples comparison. We have some of the same equipment too. But those are the purview of...
I fond this in DroneZone in what could be considered open-air assemblies. Sounds like people existing or entering buildings from their cars in parking lots.

Hello Vic,
I did send email to the Mani 3 people asking for a copy of that ASTM third party report to attach to the application. I am hoping someone has done this successfully to guide me in tb application process. I don't know if category 3 appropriate for the Mavic 3 Pro. If it's been done...
Hello Mavic Pilots,
Has anyone successfully filed an Operation Wavier that includes flying over people with a Mavi 3 Pro strapped with a Mani 3 parachute?
I'll be documenting progress on a construction site for two years that is surrounded by a low density 1-2 story urban area neighborhood...
I am in the same boat. No replies since November last year? Darn.

@R.Cowan I did the same too for the same reasons for a multifamily project. I was able test and get LAANC approvals via Air Control with manual review (0' AGL restriction) in two-three days' time for the day in question. But I did file for a blanket airspace authorization for a two year time...
Hi Starz,
Good question. Small drone operations with a specific insurance policy on drone coverage, got to ask an agent. From what I understand the firm's policy rider just states that I must have a 107 certification and a sUAS Operations manual. Currently the manual does not have a section on...
Being in design construction field our firm has General Liability Insurance our insurance rep knows we fly drones. As y'all know the parachute mitigates risk. Yes, Hartford is the insurance capital of the US!
We could ask a helicopter pilot about this. We can assume he has to add more whatever it is called to maintain lift in a hover as opposed to a moving through the air. Ah, Cafguy, as he said....
