Phantomrain, the bird doesnt rely on just GPS when landing it uses its proximity sensors.
Wriggers, I've no experience with those skids, but it is plausible that they could pehaps cause some interference even though the pictures show the sensors to be clear

Lack or responsible behaviour and consideration seems an increasing problem in all aspects of life these days Not just Drone flying.

Im impressed that they engineered such a low weight rotor hub that absorbs the forces from a rotor that size spinning at such speeds
I guess the rotors themselves must be very light weight and extremely well balanced
