I contacted DJI support and they confimed that Goggles will be available for the Air 2 in a firmware update. And support for the upgraded RC controller. Not sure how long that takes but they said it was coming for the Air 2.
See? Too much data going back to the DJI mother ship.

I had to send this back immediately. I preordered it hoping there was no external power needed. You do need external power. And it's USB C. They give you a cable that USB C to USB C. Not many laptops have that yet. Bad move Seagate. The marketing for this says data transfer in the field...
Okay - let me confirm that this is just an external drive with an MicroSD slot... that's it. You are not going to do anything in the field with this at all unless you have a battery to port it. This is so dumb. Just got mine and it is going back to Amazon pronto.
Use the B4UFly app produced by the FAA. Hover is another okay app as a backup. Stay at least 5 miles from KPRE Love Field airport. Most of the airspace outside of that is class E. you will get to class D as you near the airport. Watson Lake is 4.6 miles away, class E.
Looks what's next!

I registered before I knew about this. But so far registering has not harmed me at all.

They’re back!
After selling out in a few short hours last month, the DJI Goggles are back on sale again in the DJI Store. There is limited availability.
For a power source couldn't you use the DJI USB adapter? You might already have that with you and you only really need it long enough to copy off the files from the card. Seems like that might work.
I picked up a Remote Pilot Test Prep Guide off Amazon the day. I thought it might be useful to learn the regulations that apply to our drone flying super fun pastime.
