OK. It's not just my Mavic. Over the past couple of weeks I've noticed drifting and yawing and ascending when my Mavic should be staying still. I've updated all firmware, re-calibrated the compass and the controller only to find that it then didn't respond to a descend command from the...
Up to this point, I've only used the Mavic under manual control. Though I don't like the idea of trying the automated features under such circumstances, I guess I have little choice. The virtual boundaries of the beginner mode do out me a little at ease.
Thanks
Ok. Learned that lesson the hard way. Could have been worse.
First time this happened I was outside after dark with a good gps lock.
Tonight, though inside, I also had a GPS lock. This surprised me but it was in gps mode inside.
How can I safely test this situation? I'm very fearful of...
Ok. I'm back again after just loosing two props. Last time I test flew, it was just after doing a controller calibration to fix the drifting issue. At that time, it didn't respond to a down command on the left stick and I had to auto land with the icon.
Tonight I watched several videos on...
Went through the controller calibration... Kinda poor process from what I saw...
Then I did a compass calibration. Got it off the ground to 1.2 meters. Wouldn't go higher as its blowing a gail here tonight. The trees sheltered the lower twenty feet. When I tried to land it with full down...
After watching the video link, I liken this process to that of adjusting/trimming the sticks on RC controllers for planes etc by using the little sliders for vertical and horizontal for each stick.
Thanks msinger. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Happy flying.
I'm not sure if it was yawing right or left. I've mainly been shooting stills so have no footage to look back at either. I'll have to run additional tests if the weather is suitable this evening.
I don't recall seeing a volume in the app. This announcement comes through on the controller right??? Not on my phone/tablet? I'll have a look for that tonight when I get home.
Thanks
I've calibrated mine twice now and I've noticed on every flight that it tends to rotate slowly (drift) when not applying any control inputs. Would this type of action be a result of a bad calibration? Should I go someplace different and do it again?
I've had my drone for a couple of weeks now. The firmware which I upgraded to two times ago used to announce the setting of the home point and indicate to check it on the map.
I upgraded to the latest version a couple of days ago and I don't get that announcement now. I'm not sure if it's a...
I have a nice tablet holder that has a suction cup on it. Stuck a CD case in my controller where the phone would go... stuck the suction cup to the CD case... went flying. Works like a dream and there are hundreds of very inexpensive suction cup windshield mounts out there for tablets...
