Premiere pro or divinci resolve studio

I learned a lot from this one

I got my 9yr-old a Tello for Christmas!

Just a couple of clips of my kid playing with his new Ryze Tello drone this morning. We've gone through 6 batteries on the thing and he's already asking about the controller and range extender - oh boy... Any suggestions on fun drone activities with kids? Also, I'm trying to teach myself...

to keep or to return mini

The DjI Fly app works fine with my new OnePlus 7 Pro running Android 10, my previous Pixel 2 XL also running Android 10, and my wife's LG G6 running Android 9. I haven't tested our Galaxy Tab S2 running Android 8 yet, as it is too big to fit on the controller.

    Flying DIY Millenium Falcon!

I'm guessing a lot of you are probably already subscribed to FliteTest on youtube, but I thought this one was worth sharing given that I just came home from watching Episode 9 ;) The "trench run" starting at around 22:45 is great :)

Premiere pro or divinci resolve studio

The way I see it, Premiere Pro + After Effects is an expensive monthly Creative Cloud subscription; whereas Resolve 16 can do most of the things Adobe does for free or at a lesser, one-time cost. The free version of Resolve 16 can work with and render a 4K timeline without issues. The...

    2.7k vs Upscaling to 4k

The way I understand it, Youtube allows ~10Mbps for 4K using their VP9 compression codec whereas they limit 1080p to ~2Mbps. So yes, we're upscaling our footage by 48% to get from 2.7K to 4K, but then there's less compression on the youtube end so it's less blocky during fast motion and...

    Video beginner questions

I totally found the 48fps "HFR" Hobbit movies jarring, personally; kind of like those TVs that output the super-smooth 120 or 240fps by interpolating the in-between frames and make everything look fake as if it were CGI. Mostly just when people are present in the scene though. I guess it...

    Video beginner questions

I'm still learning too, and it looks like it's a bit of a gray area with the Mini's 2.7K resolution. On the one hand 4K resolution offers increased sharpness due to both the number of pixels, and also a higher allotted bitrate by Youtube's compression algorithm; but on the other hand, to upload...

    Check out these choppy controls

I'm still a newbie, but I've found that switching to the "pinch" grip with my thumb and index finger on the controls helped me to slow down and be more smooth in my movements. Still working on remembering which way to move the sticks though ;)

Checking in from Central Vancouver Island (Nanaimo)

Thanks! I just added a Ryze Tello drone to my Amazon Christmas shopping list for him - hopefully it'll become something we learn together :)

Checking in from Central Vancouver Island (Nanaimo)

My Mavic Mini arrived last Wednesday and I've been trying to get out and practice flying for a little bit every day. As a photographer by trade I've been tempted to buy drones before, but could never justify the cost or time commitment to get licensed. I'm loving the Mini so far, though, and...

Need help! Which mobile device are you using with DJI Fly?

OnePlus 7 Pro in a DBrand Grip case just fits (snugly) without modification. DJI Fly works great - no problems at all. I don't think the DJI Fly app takes advantage of the 90Hz display.

    Victoria area pilots out there?

Checking in from Nanaimo with another new Mavic Mini :)

2nd day flying, first video, spotted some wildlife!

Thanks! I was a little surprised too! I added a bit of contrast by using the auto-color tool in DaVinci Resolve, but that was it for grading. The scene above the water shows some ISO noise, but most of the blurriness is because the sea lion (?) was fairly deep under the water.
