    Another device thread....

As long as you have a data connection on your phone then maps will load on the iPad (I tether mine to a Verizon MiFi), however, the wifi-only mini doesn't have internal GPS, so you won't be able to update your home point even if the phone you are tethered to does have GPS

    When to charge Mavic Battery?

When I'm not going to be flying for a few days I usually store them between 40-60% - I've done this with my P3P and almost two years later all 3 batteries are still working well / aren't swelling at all :] I usually only charge them to 100% the day I'm going to be flying to reduce the time they...

    Airflow only outside?

If you put your hand next to the drone when the fan is running you will feel some air comes out of the bottom and flows over the heatsink, however, the rest flows through the body and comes out the vents by the DJI logo on the back of the drone.

    Green Arrows on TapFly

I don't believe this is currently possible, however, if anyone finds a way please let us know, as I've basically given up on using the mode too because of this haha

    DJI Ground Station Pro

On iOS it's iPad only right now which limits its appeal to me for use with the Mavic Pro where I'm usually using my 7+ to save on space. That said I found GSP workable when I tried it with my P3P / iPad Mini - Was able to easily set the overlap percentage and I liked that it gave more info on...

    Speed

If you turn off obstacle avoidance you can usually get 31mph or so without switching to sport mode This is the mode I usually fly in, as it's still pretty quick and is not as hard on the gimbal or battery

    Passed the 107 yesterday

Congrats on the great score OP!!! Anything above a 90 is really something to be proud of :-) I took my knowledge test last week after going through the RemotePilot101 course too and can state that it's definitely worth the cost if you're someone who isn't super motivated to go through all the...

    DIY rear compass cabling fix

^^^Yup - If you leave the wires straight and add this additional metal near the compass it potentially could even make the problem worse through the induction of a magnetic field under load. Hard to know what the outcome would be, however, twisting the wires is much simpler and effective as has...

    Firmware v01.03.0400

Not sure if it is normal, however, I see the same thing - I originally upgraded using the GO4 App (which took maybe 25 minutes or so) and ended up doing the update again on the Mavic through the DJI Assistant 2 app, which took much less time to complete. It should give you the option to refresh...

How high and how far can I safely take the Mavic Pro?

Technically under Part 107 you can fly up to 399.9999...ft AGL. Just like how under Part 107 your drone can weigh 54.9999...lb, but 55.00lb is too high to operate under Part 107 (without a waiver). For hobbyists they may still be technically guidelines, however, they are meant to keep people...

Dust/Dirt in the Mavic's front vent?

Exactly - Most people with filters on their computer intakes forget to clean them regularly, which is worse than just letting dust slowly accumulate on components. When it comes to cleaning I'll probably blow the Mavic out with nitrogen every few months, however, I'm not going to worry about it...

Dust/Dirt in the Mavic's front vent?

A folding landing pad doesn't take up much room and does a decent job of keeping the takeoff / landing surface free of dust!!

    DIY rear compass cabling fix

That's exactly the reason... redundancy if one fails or starts giving bogus data like in this case :) Starting with the Phantom 4 DJI has put in dual IMU as well as Compass modules. Next up (for the P5) will probably be dual GPS, as that would certainly be of benefit to some. The Inspire 2...

    DIY rear compass cabling fix

Is there any reason DJI can't just prioritize using the Front Compass as the primary one? It seems for almost everyone that the front one always gives the better reading with less variation

    Forward obstacle avoidance failure

I too have found the problem to occur WAY more often when flying with the sun low in the sky. Just remember that you need to disable Obstacle Avoidance AND "Display Radar Chart", otherwise you'll get an annoying beep every time the OA sensors detect something even if Obstacle Avoidance is...
