Personally have both of these and use them often in sandy/desert areas:
Bit lighter on the weight side but easily foldable. Comes with tie downs that leave a little to be desired in hard ground.

I apologize as well. It was not my intent to misinform. I had not seen companies modifying controllers in that manner and must have missed the part in the description you linked. I should know better than to try to reply at 11pm local time. :D Happy Easter.
General consensus is that the DJI is a reputable source of information. You linked a page that had a single line buried in the description indicating its been "hacked" to work with the other drones. I'm soooooo sorry. How about this, instead of posting why not just Google it d00d? See, I can...
It's not compatible with the Mavic 3. Only Matrice 350 RTK, Matrice 300 RTK, and Matrice 30 Series according to Buy DJI RC Plus - DJI Store.
That site has incorrect information.
Sounds somewhat similar to my previous issue in a way... Trying new RC N2 and flight controls do not work (Resolved - Reinstalled DJI Fly)
I had to reinstall DJI Fly and it magically was able to take off. Hoping this will help you as well.
Unsure if this applies to the iPad variant shown above, but I did this with a Feelworld LUT11 and my RC 2 and ended up STOPPING using it because if the USB C gets unplugged from the RC, it reboots it. I've swapped to an iPad mini and RC N2 and honestly don't miss the zoom wheel on the top...
Ok... so i went the nuclear route and logged out of the DJI fly app, deleted the app, reinstalled, and re-paired and its now fine? Problem solved I suppose. Probably some old cache in the app causing an issue. Very strange... thank you all.
Yes, completely accepts. I can take pictures/video using the DJI Fly App connected to the Air 3 via my iPad mini, move the gimbal, etc. I simply cannot get the Air 3 to take off. It's the strangest thing.
Good evening all. I purchased an RC N2 as a backup (in case my RC 2 takes a fall) from a fellow forum member. I bound the new RC N2 to my Air 3 and can even operate the gimble via camera view, make configuration changes, etc... however, I cannot get it to take off. I tried with both joysticks...
All Air 3's are compliant as of 11/10. I believe it's not finding your exact serial because the 2 serials listed on the document are simply a range. UAS Declaration of Compliance
Looks like you did about 2 years ago though... you have every bird in their 2020/2021 lineup! Haha. Just giving you trouble. You're right though... easy to fall in that trap.
