Null Island...

It's interesting to consider... I could have done the exact same flight, by parking next to the tower, at the edge of my land, and flown over my house. No one would be upset. I'll definitely take that into consideration next time.

The loss of connection to the controller was more than adequate to disabuse me of the notion.

I appreciate the criticism. Keep in mind I do check the airspace while flying. And if somehow an aircraft didn't show up on the apps, if it were at that elevation, directly over my property... It's in the process of crashing.

Well... Thas was cool, scary, and awesome! I sent her up, and the footage as she punched through the fog was cooler than I expected. Beautiful. The scary... I sent her do do a lap around the water tower, a route I've become comfortable with. And then it happened. Right above the tower my drone...

I see. So to overcome any problems bringing it down if the fog is between the drone, and home; switching to sport mode will deactivate the obstacle avoidance?

So I woke up to a nice foggy morning. I immediately thought about putting my Air 3 up, and getting some nice shots of the fog nestled in the valleys, and hollows. But was hesitant to do so, wondering about the reliability of the RTH function in foggy conditions. Anyone have any experience with this?

Sure. But also.. Many times it been suggested that DJI products will be grounded to to FCC restrictions. So..? What's really up? And when will we know it's safe to get back in the water? I just recently got into drones. And eight out the gate I find out there some crazy controversy.

What about any of tje larger drones. I also flirted with the idea of the Avata2?
