Please explain. It seems it would be possible to offset a sloped landing surface only if the drone was attached to the foam blocks at an angle.

How? If the drone is attached level with respect to the bottom of the foam blocks and lands on a sloped surface, the drone and the foam blocks will be inclined at the same angle as the roof.
