I wonder if you could fly further in C mode than in P or S mode since C mode would use less power than the other modes at full throttle I assume. But like you said, depends on lots of variables.

But then it would render the need for S(peed) useless, no? Has anyone ever done a test of max flight time in the 3 different modes?

You could also drive to your friends house with the mini, and then fly it there :D, problem solved.

I've hovered and flown about 1.5m over rather calm water a few days ago, no issues (yet) as far as I could tell.

uhm....you forgot to mention Maven is only for apple users. I wanted to try them out but no android download... Guess I'll try Dronelink.
