There is one fold I did before inserting the ribbon. The other two I did after routing the ribbon to the R connection. That end has to be fed through the opening near the middle connection#2. There is no way I could install the ribbon pre folded in that middle connection. That is why it is...
My one MP called for calibration after a crash that required repairing the gimbal ribbon. Did it and has been good to go ever since.
I was wondering if when traveling across the continent if the compass will need to be recalibrated. I will go from 6° West to 7° East magnetic declination in...
For transferring the video from my micro SD card to the computer for editing, I simply remove the card and plug it into a micro to USB adapter and copy or cut and paste to an internal storage drive.
To get the cached file with the sound from my ipad air 2 or my iphone, I ise an app from the...
I could not get over how many drone pilots there are in my neighborhood until 4th of July night. I counted 7 within a block of my house. I wonder how many drone pilots there are now in the country. The little flashing green and twin red lights last night was everywhere. Nobody was cruising...
Got the Shoe-Goo in and it looks just like the stuff that dji used. Dabbed it on all the gimbal connections, put back together and it is good to go.
Have to work fast with that stuff as it skins over in a few seconds.
Can you move the motors with the RC? Does it fail to move at all during power up?
If it appears dead, than my guess is your connections of the ribbon cable connectors is not connecting. Not surprising in that the connectors are not easy to press into place.
You can test if the power supply...
Yikes! I consider myself very very lucky having it repaired and passing the flight test. It certainly wasn't experience since I had mine inserted all but the last connector and it was upside down. So I had to remove it and start all over again. I had one of the folds backwards.
Oh yes--...
Even the replacement cable has that backing. It is the same tape that you peal off to expose sticky for the folds but this one isn't a location for any folds. That one tape backing stays. It is not wrapped around but just on the outside of the loop. I have no logical idea why it is there as...
The cable has only three connections to the gimbal assembly. They are labeled Y for Yaw, P for pitch, and R for roll. The 4th connection is to the circuit board. The R attaches to the camera motor to set the level of the horizon. The P connected to the pitch motor that controls you tilt...
Hard to tell but it looks like your gimbal is hanging at an angle. It should hang plumb which is why it is hitting the frame when it goes through it startup test. You should check to see if the shock plate is bent. I couldn't tell if mine was bent until I removed it. Then it was obvious...
The cable I bought is thicker than the stock one which should make it more durable but it was more difficult to fold. It was wider only at the part that leaves the gimbal mount and runs to the circuit board. This made it difficult to feed past the two mounting screws to the shock plate. The...
If the shock plate with the rubber bands is bent or broken the camera will catch on something as it goes through the startup. He probably found a way to tilt the drone 90 degrees so the camera would not get hung up on whatever it was catching on. Once I repaired my ribbon cable I could fire it...
I will be leaving next weekend on a road trip to Seattle and then on a cruise ship to the lower Alaskan panhandle stops you mentioned. I will be taking the Mavic for the drive cross country but will not be taking it with me on the ship. Just not enough time and the ship rules doesn't permit...
A week after owning my first Mavic, the 5D button fell off while I was flying. I didn't notice it until I got home. So I returned to where I was standing and saw it in the grass. Talk about luck. I saw the plastic button was pushed on a square metal rod on the rocker switch. So I pushed it...
