    Apology and Good News

Len, In the USA, our Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) published specific rules applicable to the drone industry. It covers many areas of operations in airspace, different categories of drones, permits and registrations, as well as updates based on emerging technology such as RID.... In the...

    RID Module Help

Are there instructions as to how to hard-wire the DroneTag module to a drone's power supply?

    RID Module Help

@Cameronjames_dec ..I too still have a Mavic Mini 1 and have no plans to buy a new drone (it will cost about US$1,000). I just went ahead and got my FAA107 license. So, if I use my Mini 1 for non-recreational purposes, I will also need to add a RID module. Agree with others that the HolyStone...

Do you think this is a sensible flight, even if legal ( UK ), and do you think it is wise to publish it ? NOT mine, I won't fly in a town full stop ..

This "Birmingham Road" video is simply boring. There's nothing educational or entertaining about it. There are so many travel videos that "tell stories" and capture the viewer's interest. Sorry, not to be harsh, but everyone should visit www.airvuz.com to see some award-wining travel videos....

    Helpful RID link from DJI

I can't find this on FAA web site: The original Mavic Mini 1 does not have RID. A 3rd-party module can be purchased, but adds weight to the drone...Is this required for recreational or FAA 107 flights? What brand/vendor of RID is recommended for this older bird?

I Made a Free Tool To Do Automated 3d Mapping and Photogrammetry On The Mavic 3/Air 3/Mini 4 Pro Without SDK

Very nice "project".....I've used other mapping software for route planning (Litchi and DroneLink), but yours seems very intuitive for the ability to create the files for direct downloading into the drone. I agree with other user that it's not intuitive (yet) as to the camera heading. As I draw...

Watch ChapGPT Control Robots and Drones:

No surprise. We use flight planning tools including Litchi and DroneLink today. Using our brain to visualize a mapped flight plan. Using AI is a natural progression. Maybe take the error-prone human out of the loop?

HOA demands that I stop flying drones in the neighborhood. Need advice

This whole thread is fishy: The OP lives in a HOA community but has their own house on a one acre lot? That's weird. There's no mention of FPV droid flying that is "sustained" over their property. If so, it is indeed a noise nuisance. The HOA use of commercial-hired lawnmowers etc are...

    Overheating vs NITS

I've used a variety of display devices. Just turn back to the sun for most flights. The clarity of display (NITS) hasn't been a problem. Some apps for flight planning are only iOS so that may impact decision. I also agree with others that iPad mini is better in-hand balance weight.

    Drones shut down Dublin Airport

Interesting. So, if I'm against the new runway I have "my rights" to interfere with an entire airport's flight operations by weaponizing my drone? Those locals have no rights. Take the battle to court, not to the air! Makes it look bad for us responsible UAV pilots

Has anyone made an easy to use video editor yet?

Stop using Adobe products unless you want an expensive subscription and a PhD learning curve. I love Pinnacle Studio and absolutely hate Adobe Premiere....expensive subscription and steep learning curve. Pinnacle Studio package from importing clips to producing final videos in multitude of...

    Audits

Agree 100% My reply was simply to a) be aware that there will always be fringe elements in ANY market and b) for us drone pilots that comply by rules "for the better good", it is our responsibility to self-police our industry to weed-out flagrant self-entitled pilots (eg, flying way beyond LOS...

    Audits

I'm convinced that humanity in the post pandemic world has flown out the window. Drone pilots are no different that bad vehicle drivers, or distracted bar patrons, or...etc. Those that dismiss any form of civility and regulations stating that they have "inalienable rights" is human behavior at...

Maven, Litchi, Dronelink, stand alone apps?

If you want to "dabble" in the world if pre-planned flights, Litchi is fine. But if you're serious about learning to program and map a complex flight path with waypoints, etc then get DroneLink....you will want to program a flight on a large computer screen for accuracy. BTW, both of these...
