    RTH Tragedy

I had the same experience, rocketing straight up into the tree canopy and crashing when I wanted to try the auto landing. It relates to the RTH, Return to Home. Once activated the Mavic flies up to a predetermined altitude (I think the default is about 90 feet), then flies to it's GPS takeoff...

    Birds...how scared should I be?

Did you take that picture with a telephoto on a camera? Did your drone live to tell the tale? ;-)

    Birds...how scared should I be?

Great photo!!! Was that taken by your Mavic? On my first flight in an open field I had a hummingbird keep diving at my Mavic. I also immediately landed with visions of hummingbird splattered which would have ruined the fun of it, especially for the bird.

    Mavic Pro went rogue

I live in a wooded area in Oregon. When I was on my third flight and had the Mavic hovering 6 feet in front of me on my front porch it shot up into the trees like a rocket, bounced around in the branches, responded to no controller inputs, then stalled and crashed. I had triggered the Return to...

Add me to the DJI Goggles are "meh" group...

Trying them on is a good idea and love the idea of bringing some footage on a card. I'd look at who deals them on DJI's site, look for a local dealer and call. If you are in NYC, perhaps B&H, if in LA Advexure (advexure.com), they are a dealer who supplies the other dealers and have things...

Wow, it's amazing that there is such a thing as the focus fixers specifically for DJI Goggles. And based on our experiences, not so amazing that there is "overwhelming demand" that they are backordered to August 16th. I look forward to your review. That's great that someone was so enterprising...

I have returned mine. The process was fairly simple. 1. Go to Amazon and find the order and select return. 2. Then they tell you they can't return it the regular way, you need to talk to someone. 3. You put in your number and they call you. 4. They say they will generate an email to DJI which...

I, have long curly hair which prevents the band from ever firmly connecting under my occipital ridge. It immediately slides right off. So, I used JTUS's suggestion again yesterday of wearing a hat. I tried a baseball cap and a wool stocking cap. Yes, I went out yesterday in Portland, Oregon's...

John's review of DJI Goggles with Mavic

A question about the hat. I tried a few hats I have including one without a back strap. You are right, they definitely stabilize the goggles, however they all jam into my forehead so hard that after 5 minutes I have a red mark which continues to feel irritated afterwards. Is the Under Armor...

Gettng Cold Feet - Is Hassling The Norm or the Exception?

I think "Drone" has a negative connotation. It could mean killing people remotely, being an automaton following blindly, spying on others ... " But the reason I got into it and what I hear from all of you is it's about "aerial photography and cinematography that gives people a unique view of...

hahahaha, I commend you on your commitment to be willing to be dorky to capture the special aerial moment. You deserve the Mavic Flying Cross. I love the creativity here, but I am amazed that we have to come up with so much creative jury rigging to make a $449 product work properly from a...
