The Mavic is a breeze to fly. Start in an OPEN FIELD using beginner mode, try to get as many hours as you can and then switch to regular flight when you feel confident enough. Did I mention you should start in an OPEN FIELD? Forget buying the X5...that's a waste of time.

The landing pad helps with precision landing. The drone takes a picture of where it took off and then compares that picture to what it sees when it returns to find the landing spot. So it's best to have a high contrast landing pad for the drone to see and recognize.
Thank you but I can buy them brand new from DJI for $349.....and as a refurb from DJI for $275 that comes with a full warranty.
