In my opinion a big part of the reason for VLOS is the gross insufficiency of training as required by the TRUST mechanism, which won't be meaningfully helped by 360 observation capabilities.
Perhaps as part of modification to 107 certification...
DJI really should disable this in firmware. At the very least refuse to take off, with an incompatibility message displayed. At best, refuse to even power up.
Since we already know the battery type and model is available to Fly, there's no good...
Minor nit: They are electrically compatible, that's why the M5P will power up, take off, and fly. Unfortunately they do not have sufficient power to operate the drone under all conditions.
Perhaps there will be a firmware update in the future...
