Thinking of getting the RC Pro 2 for my Mini 5 Pro

Currently available on Amazon in the US, for ~$1,400. Ouch! that's very pricey. Still, very tempting. I have a Mini Pro 3/4/5, Air 3, Avata, Avata 2, Neo, Neo 2, will be getting the Avata 360 when released. 2 RC2 controllers, only one gets used, other still virgin. The drones I fly regularly...

    The history of DJI

I've been having a hoot generating songs on suno.com, an AI music site. Here's one I "composed" for my wife who has ADHD (diagnosed) and loses things all day long. Side benefit is she's the best "finder" I've ever known in 64 years... https://suno.com/s/nMfHS7hb6HlrFhj1

    No License Needed

Which is why licensing will catch up with flying cars when they become of some significance. Until then, like home-built drones of the past, it will be the Wild West. Right now regulators have their hands full working out how the explosion of self-driving cars is going to mesh smoothly with the...

Lost my other drone, my Mini 3 Pro

^This. Despite the hopelessness of getting through to him, I will give him props for doing the work to bring the actual fight data to the discussion so everyone can see how easy it is to get nailed by a wave. The flight data was very interesting. So, everyone but the OP: Don't fly low over...

FAA wants to talk...while I'm flying...

A little known fact by just a few of us here... @akdrone is actually Santa Claus who happens to be a 107 certified drone enthusiast in the off-season. Just thought I'd explain the uncanny resemblance to those wondering. And yes, the sled is an extremely high-powered experimental with a waiver...

    No License Needed

It's all about risk. It's why you can build whatever Frankenstein ground contraption you want with jet engines and risk your life to your heart's content on private acreage without any license, or DOT certification of your Rube Golberg machine – but can't take it on public roads without said...

FAA wants to talk...while I'm flying...

Exactly what @akdrone did. No I don't. Everyone needs to lighten up a bit. To me "intrusive" requires some forcefulness. This was polite, friendly, and for all we know they might have just walked away if interaction was politely declined. Viewing any interaction with government officials as...

    Where are waypoints stored?

Not defending them, just explaining... They don't want us doing this, because of the additional support costs involved. It was much easier on the RC(1). They locked down several avenues available in that controller with the RC2. Unless they decide to either support these kinds of manipulations...

    Mastershot Madness

Customer complaint/request. A lot of people have been asking for this since MS were introduced. Of course there will be others, such as yourself, that like it better the other way. I'm personally indifferent, but I can see the merit to the argument that it's much easier to splice them all...

    Mastershot Madness

With the M5P this is standard regardless of which controller you use, it's a new feature. Not sure what's going on with the RC2 Pro, but you would have had to update Fly to use the RC2P with the Mini 5P, and it should have then separated the Mastershots clips.

Those living in and around fire zones were also told to stop using drones to capture the scene.

Wow, culture is such a strong influence. No such law necessary in the US. The entire nation is populated with Rubberneckers, so nothing goes faster than a crawl past anything unusual, including getting a traffic ticket.

Those living in and around fire zones were also told to stop using drones to capture the scene.

Depends. There is a sorted list of priorities, and risk response. The life of a fire fighting pilot is more important than a forest or a structure. So, rather than risk the pilot, the forest and buildings are regrettably allowed to burn if a drone presents an unnecessary risk to a fire-fighting...

Activation code to enable drone after TRUST completion

Throwing this concept out for discussion. TRUST certification compliance is abysmal in the US. Suppose your drone couldn't fly until the TRUST certification had been successfully completed? It would work like this: When you get a new drone, it requires an activation code to be submitted to the...
