    The design keeps improving

My M5P just arrived yesterday, and due to social demands from that who shall always be obeyed (and worshipped, and deferred to, and praised, etc. 😁), I couldn't unbox until this morning. So, I'm just at the beginning of examining and setting this thing up. First thing I noticed immediately is...

How often do you use your gimbal cover?

As others, only off when flying. Comes off when unpacking gear before flight, goes back on when packing up. While the gimbal is not quite as delicate as some here seem to think, it is the most fragile part of the drone. There's a good reason DJI designs and includes the gimbal protector, and...

    Lost another drone

These are the sort of creeps that are giving the hobby a bad name. Trying to capture unique, epic video of waves breaking is hardly in the same category.

    Lost another drone

Most are not going to understand/agree with a value/priority hierarchy that accepts these risks and losses because of the value of the media. This is a very personal, individual thing, with lots of variables like financial wherewithal. Elon can play games with Mavic 4 Pros all day long and lose...

    Altitude question

Which complicates following the rules somewhat... the requirement is to stay below 400ft (US), a.k.a. Above Ground Level. You only have data for your height above takeoff location, so if you fly out over descending terrain it's easy to exceed 400ft AGL while the indicated height is less. Just...

What will DJI make next year? (Leaks)

Yeah that picture is stupid. I launched mine off an outdoor table into the lawn. Couldn't be safer. Lots of fun! I'm also very grateful to have grown up as part of the last generation not to be bubble-wrapped as kids. We had real playground equipment, diving boards at pools, and all sorts of...

What will DJI make next year? (Leaks)

https://www.mombrite.com/match-stick-rocket/ To vastly improve upon this tutorial, use about twice the length of foil on the matchstick, cover at least half the length of the matchstick. Place a straightened paperclip on one side of the matchstick, going all the way to the head. Wrap the...

    Reminder: Service your batteries!

Yes, bad idea. Lipos don't like to be stored over 50-60%. To protect the cells DJI batteries will self-discharge after 7-10 days down to 60%. That's where they should stay until you need them, at which point you need to charge them up to 100%. If unused for longer than 3-4 months the cells...

What will DJI make next year? (Leaks)

Some foil, wooden matchsticks, and a paperclip and you can entertain yourself for hours with tiny matchstick rockets 👍🏻

    Lost another drone

@jwilson, you have yet to describe any legally actionable damages, in which case you could not get a court to entertain your claim, and won't find an attorney willing to take your case. Failing to communicate when promised is not something that constitutes actionable damage under the law...

After December 23rd will online store still be able to sell existing inventory?

Probably. It just seems nonsensical that the Biden administration would serve Trump Jr.'s goals.

Can't change mini 3 pro propeller

To be clear, heat the tip of the screwdriver, and then place it in the head of the screw.

    Extremely low voltage warning

@jwilson I think you're making a huge mistake to fly over water, especially the ocean, with a suspicious battery. It could completely fail at any moment.

Do you tune up your drone?

The plugs should be re-gapped every 50 flights or you start to lose power, and the valves should be adjusted on a similar schedule or they get noisy. Also top off all the fluids before every flight.
