Did you use the Mavic for all the filming footage like in a katana tray or something? Otherwise what did you use to film the not flying footage?

The insurance is more of a liability issue more than if you personally damaged your drone. For that they have DJI Care. I would never pull a claim if I caused damage to my drone because I was doing something crazy/dumb.

Nice shots, have you tried using the Mavic in fixed wing mode? It should give you the same feel as your RC plane. Also do you have an ND filter on your GoPro?
I was waiting for the Ryze Tello but I couldn't so I found a good deal on a Spark which is full DJI. I'm pretty happy with having both the Spark and the Mavic Pro.
Once the Tello comes out that should be a great indoor/close range selfie toy.
We were able to fly to Australia and then to Hawaii and back to LAX. TSA at LAX when we were leaving took the drone out and did the swab test on it but other than that we were fine.
I'd say also if you have TSA Pre check that will make your life go much easier too. From HNL-LAX was a breeze...
That's some great footage. Did you have any issues bringing your drone into Mexico? I've heard some stories of people having to pay just to bring a drone into Mexico.
