    Greetings From AZ

Come on up to Tonto National Forest. Millions of acres of Class G airspace!!!

    drone for windy conditons

I have 109 flights on a Mini 2 & found that any gusts higher than 15mph makes it hard to control & an exercise in frustration trying to land it on a standard-size landing pad.

register your drone, vs non register?

I fly exclusively in Tonto National Forest for exactly this reason.

'Gimbal Stuck' and 'Gimbal Motor Overloaded' - Mini 2

I have a Mini 2 & have also had this problem, usually a few minutes after launch. I found that calibrating the gimbal before launch has stopped the problem.

register your drone, vs non register?

I have a Mini 2 & fly exclusively in Class G airspace. I have no reason to register it or get a Part 107.

    What class airspace is this?

Remote ID sub 250g used for rec and 107

All I can say is that a client must have pretty low expectations to accept photos & video from a 12MP camera with 8-bit color, 4K or not. Fine for an amateur but from a pro it would be shameful to submit work of that low quality. Or maybe not.

    Newb question about Sedona

I live in Mesa, AZ & manage to get to Sedona a couple of times per year. I can never figure out if it is legal to fly a drone there or not. There is the airport on Airport Mesa & I know you can't fly within 5 miles of an airport, but what keeps me from flying my Mini 2 around Sedona & Oak Creek...

Remote ID sub 250g used for rec and 107

My only drone is a Mini 2 & after 100 flights I know what the camera can & can't do. As a 100% recreational pilot who flies exclusively in Class G airspace over US National Forests, no photo I have ever taken has any commercial value to anyone.
  10. D

Where do you draw the line from recreational pilot to part 107?

You never wrote what class airspace the park is under. As a 100% recreational pilot, I only operate my Mini 2 in Class G airspace & launch from public property. Frankly, if the park board wants an aerial picture of its park, they can hire a drone pilot with a Part 107 FAA certification to do it...

Mini 2 Boulder Creek, Tonto NF

I know, right? I gave up flying only in the Golden Hours & a sky full of clouds & now fly my Mini 2 anytime there are good flight conditions & I have at least 2-3 hours to spend at Tonto National Forest. The only thing that matters is that I'm flying in Class G airspace because I am 100%...

Mini 2 First Water Trailhead, Superstition Mtns

Oopsie! Somebody better tell those helicopter pilots then!

Mini 2 First Water Trailhead, Superstition Mtns

Motor vehicles are not allowed in Federal Wildernesses. I figure I am legal if I launch from a parking lot.

Mini 2 Boulder Creek, Tonto NF

Sunday afternoon at Boulder Creek Recreation Area in Tonto National Forest in central AZ. Ideal flying conditions! Temp was about 80F & winds were very light. Despite the crowd and my noisy drone (I stayed at 20m altitude) me and my Mini 2 were ignored by everybody! The general mood/vibe of...

    Power Lines!

I always scout where I'm going to fly with binoculars. Power line locations in Tonto National Forest seem extremely random.
