Same thing happened to me. Disconnect and plunge. DJI said it wasn't their fault but all flight data showed everything in perfect order. Perfect weather included. If you bought it with an Amex, they will replace it if it was within 30 days.

I have flown many drones. Pilot error was not the issue. DJI even said that the pilot pushed pitch forward when the data stopped. I guess pitch forward is not a safe maneuver now. But yes, no over water for a while.
